Fred on Mar 2, 2015
We found this kept the fly population down to almost 0 for several years until a batch of flies came in with a load of hay, then we had a normal season of flies even with using this. We'll start giving it again this spring and hope for a better summer this year.
Alan F on Feb 7, 2015
I have used this for 3 years and find it cuts down the fly population significantly.
Lauren M on May 22, 2014
I have used this product before with good results. Now we are retired and all products seem to continue to cost more just as we are watching our purchases. I was checking prices online versus my local feed store (always a bit high) when to my great happiness a twenty percent coupon appeared after clicking to Stateline! More than covered shipping and I was able to get 20 pounds for only $15.00 more than the feed store charged for 3.5 pounds. THANK YOU STATELINE!!
Tami B on May 13, 2014

can you use for cattle?
A shopper on Jun 25, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately, we cannot provide this type of advice. We recommend asking your Vet what they think would work best for your cattle.
Does it work on biting gnats?
A shopper on Jun 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have fed this all Spring and summer and it has not worked on gnats. It does work extremely well on all other biting flies. I do not have a single fly in my barn or pastures.
I have 15 horses at my farm how long would a 10 lb container last?
A shopper on Jun 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I use one 10 lb bucket for 5 horses at one scoop per day per horse. Takes about 1 month to 5 weeks to go through a container. Very effective product. Have used on our farm for three years.

My horses have cushings and are Insulin Resistance. Is there a lot of sugar in this product????
Addie H on Dec 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: My mule is also IR and Cushings. I did find the ingredients for this on another site: Other than the active ingredient here are the "other ingredients": FEED INGREDIENTS: Wheat Middlings, Dehydrated Alfalfa Meal, Calcium Carbonate, Sodium Chloride, Calcium Propionate (preservative) Since such a small dose is given I don't see a significant risk but you could show this to your vet for confirmation!
With the drought here in California, is it too late to start using this to help cut down the flys?
A shopper on May 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No, it will help because it prevents the larvae from maturing in the manure. It also depends on how many neighbors you have with livestock. If you are fairly isolated, it really works well. Otherwise, it will only cut down fly populations slightly. Pick up manure daily and compost it under black plastic to prevent attracting flies in the first place. I am isolated and I have noticed a big difference. I have used it for about 5 years.
I board my horse. Do all the horses have to been on this product for it to work properly?
syenzo on Apr 28, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Well, I'm no entomologist, but if your horse is the only one getting the fly control product at a boarding facility it only makes sense that your horse will be affected by the flies from the surrounding horses. Whenever I use any product, all of my horses get it. The flies don't know not to attack your horse from any other with this type of product. Feed thru products stop the flies before they develop and don't control mature flies. Topical sprays will control (for a short time) mature flies.

But if you can get the other owners to use a product, Equitrol works well.

Hope this helps.
Is this product safe for mares that are pregnant?
Judy Ann r on Jan 11, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It is supposed to be, but I have found no studies that support its safety in mares and foals. There are studies of Solitude, which support the safety of its chemical in pregnant mares.

Bottom line, however: if your mare is pregnant, you are better off NOT exposing her to more chemicals than absolutely necessary. I'd suggest a good fly sheet with a bellyband, fly mask with ears, and lots of manure clean-up!
