No pine tar. Petroleum product conduct is, as far as I can tell, less than in other hoof dressings that I have looked at.

The ingredents in it are recommmended by my vet. Seems to work great, however my Rocky Mtn has hard hooves anyway, but if anything, makes them look good!

Is it a thicker formula or more liquid like?
A shopper on Jul 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thicker, especially in cold weather. About like Vaseline. Less thick in hot weather, but still not liquid. I've used this for many years on advice of my farrier once a week. Only problem is that it is hard to get to the stuff when the container is half empty. Just cut the container in half horizontal, around the middle and keep on using.
Does it have a strong unpleasant smell like Fiebings Hoof Dressing??
A shopper on Jun 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: uuse this Hoof Conditioner. No strong smell at all. Works good, like most Hoof conditioners, the brush does get a lot of the conditioner on it so I always get the excess off. I made the mistake of putting it on my horse's hooves the day before the Farrier showed up. The Farrier asked me not to put it the day before he comes as it stay on the hooves as it is slick the day after putting it on. It really helped my horse's hooves and I really like it.
Does this product work well in sandy soil conditions or does the product just attract the sand and not absorb into the hoof?
A shopper on Jan 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I've used this hoof conditioner for many years. I apply it while horse is standing on a rubber mat, then let him stand while I continue with grooming so it has awhile to absorb before I turn him out. Our soil is often dry and dusty, but not sand. This hoof conditioner works fine even with dusty conditions. Tip: When you have difficulty getting the last of it out of the container, use strong scissors to cut the bottle horizontally around the middle to get to the conditioner in the bottom.
