Product Summary:

Farnam™ Rain Maker™ Triple Action Hoof Moisturizer and Conditioner
Help For Your Horse’s Hooves

Dry weather, dusty stables, lack of exercise: these factors combine to rob a horse’s hooves of moisture, leaving them hard and brittle, susceptible to cracks, injury, and disease, and unable to regenerate quickly because of slowed growth.

Rain Maker™ can protect your horse’s hooves from these damaging conditions. Like a rainy day, Rain Maker™ leaves hooves with a healthy balance of moisture. It’s an advanced hoof dressing that helps restore and condition damaged hooves, so they can absorb the stresses and shocks of daily life with ease.

The Triple Action Formula leaves your horse with hooves that attract, absorb, and retain moisture. It helps prevent painful problems like cracks, splits, and contracted heels, enhances color, sheen, and texture, and leaves hooves with a natural glossy, lustrous appearance.

How to Use Rain Maker™:
Before applying Rain Maker™, be sure the sole and wall of the hoof are clean and dry. Pick out the soles and clefts of the frog to remove any foreign matter.

First, using the handy applicator brush provided, work Rain Maker™ into the frog, the sole and over the bulbs of the heel. Next, apply to the hoof wall to aid in restoration of the periople (protective coating of the horn), retard moisture loss and give the hoof a natural sheen. Using the applicator brush, also massage Rain Maker™ into the coronary band to approximately one inch above the hoof wall. Repeat treatment as needed. Most hooves respond favorably to an application once or twice a week.

  • Humectants in glycerine attract moisture to the hoof
  • Fatty Acid Esters absorb and carry moisture deep within the hoof
  • Rosins and Petrolatum help retain hoof moisture
  • Aloe Vera Oil penetrates deep to help keep hooves healthy-looking
  • Lanolin provides emollient action
  • Pine Tar enhances color, texture and sheen
Neatsfoot Oil, White Petrolatum, Glycerine, Pine Tar, Lanolin, Aloe Vera Oil, Hydrolized Animal Protein

Rain Maker
Rain Maker helped my horse's feet! They were cracked and chipping form the heat wave we had here. Noticed improvement after first application!

Live in a dry, sandy environment. Regular use has minimized cracking.

Rain maker
I've been using this for a couple weeks now and I've noticed a big improvement in my horse's hooves. After her last trim her hooves started cracking. I've been applying this 3-4 times per week and the cracks have not gone any further and her hooves look healthier. I wish I'd bought it sooner! Definitely recommend this. It does smell like bar b que sauce but who doesn't like bar b que :)

Hopefully this is good
I bought this to use on my QH since he has a crack in hoff. We haven't been able to use it yet due to the raining weather the last month. Hopefully we can use it soon.

Best conditioner out there with the added rain benefit. Doesn't have a bad smell, in my opinion. Also doesn't freeze bad the way some of the straight cream conditioners do. That said, I kept in the house over the winter so it always stayed smooth.

Love this stuff
This year has been so dry and it's really taking a toll on their hooves. My mare normally has great hooves, but they have been cracking and chipping like crazy. The bottom of her hooves are dry and cracked. I have only had this project for a couple weeks, but I love it! You can still see the sheen after several days. My mare is a paint with white and brown striped hooves and I don't notice any residue.

Exceeded Expectations
I bought this product after reading tons of reviews of this product. Not only on horse.com but on other sites as well. Even though it had so many good things said about it, I still had to see it for my own eyes. After using Rain Maker, I saw immediate results. I apply this about every five days and it works wonders. My horses normally have hard hooves, but this year has been horrible for them. Their hooves were getting wide cracks halfway up the hoof wall, while the bottoms had large cracks that looked similar to a mud hole drying up in the summer, with the peeling top layer. The first time I used Rain Maker I saw fantastic results. The moisture was already starting to be restored, and their hoofs have never looked better since i started using it. I absolutely love this product. I recommend it to everyone and will keep using it for the years to come. The only downside is that it smells like BBQ sauce or meat seasoning which makes me hungry. haha.

I think this is the best for the job. Have used many others but keep coming back to this one...and it is one of the only (or few) that contains lanolin.

I have always loved rain maker and it really helps in the dry South Dakota weather to keep those feet from chipping and cracking... use nothing but Rainmaker and you can't beat the bacon smell :P

What color is it?
A shopper on May 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It is a dark-colored oily substance (hardens into a gel in the winter time if left in a cold barn/car, more liquidy in the hot summer) goes on relatively transparent. In addition to routine hoof care, we use it at hunter shows on all of our thoroughbreds (dark feet/light feet) for a healthy show ring shine!
My mare has shoes on her front feet but not her back feet. Her back feet get all chipped and dried out. Will this help??
Nikki on Jul 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi... it should but you need to do it 2-3 times a day..clean hoof...do underside of hoof first then exterior hoof all the way to coronet band right at hair line...

Keeping hoof trimmed will help, but tissue the season (summer) ??

Hope this helps
