Product Summary:

Field Guardian® Pipe Clamp Insulators (12-Packs)

Install this insulator and get your horses' respect by mounting a scare wire. Our special insulator attaches to the side of your pipe panels without drilling a hole in the pipe. The clamp can be mounted on the horizontal or vertical section of the panel.  The hot wire can be positioned as needed, a point midway up is preferred, although stallions may need a high wire to keep them from "necking" over the fence. Place it on both sides of adjoining pastures to reduce horse mischief to a minimum.  We strongly suggest using polyrope or 1/2" tape to prevent injuries caused by hot wire. These insulators are an economical and practical way to protect your pipe panel fences.

Sizes and specifications
The pipe clamp insulators are 3.5" inches in length and they adjust for pipe diameters from 1 1/2" up to 1 5/8".  (In order to make them fit 1 7/8" pipes, you will need to get 1.5" screws - not included in these). These sizes should fit most pipe panels, heavy duty fences as well as some cyclone fence posts.

The pipe clamps are constructed of a high grade of poly plastic with UV inhibiters and flex agents added.  This means that they will last for years without cracking; however, this also means that they cost a bit more than T-post style snap on insulators.

Installation Instructions
Select the location for the insulator.  Snap the clamp over the pipe. If you are using the clamp on small diameter pipe, use the short screw in the top hole.  If you are using it on a 1 7/8" pipe, use the longer screw in the bottom hole. Tighten the screw to fix the position on the pipe.  Do not over-tighten.

I M on Nov 30, 2016
I tried insulators with a wire backing (to be used on panels), and they turn. One of my stable mates bought these, and they look to stay put.

Installed perimeter chain link fence to contain dogs. Need to maintain electric tape fence to keep horse off the chain link. Prev. we had 2" electric tape fence on T-posts.<br />Just needed different connectors for the chain link.

What type of screws do I need?
A shopper on Sep 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: the screws needed are included when you buy the pipe clamp...I think they are 1 inch long #6 or 8 phillips head screws.
Will it work on 2 3/8 inch pipe buy using a longer screw?

How far does the clamp stick out and will it work for electric tape?
leslee c on Nov 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It will hold your rope or twine-type poly fence about five or six inches away from you pipe/corral panels. I have experienced my 3/8 - 1/4 inch poly rope stretching and sagging with time so I wouldn't want it any closer to my metal panels than this design allows for. While it works great for round braided twine/rope electric fence, it'll likely twist and roll your tape application. If you are more concerned with the function this clamp will suit your tape just fine. If you'd like the appearance to keep your tape flat-faced and pristine, it'll be a struggle. I hope this helps! Happy riding!
What size of pipe?
A shopper on May 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It fits my standard portable pipe panels (the exact inches are listed in the "sizes and specifications" section of the product summary).
