Why did you choose this? Store
we travel a lot for rodeo's, trail riding, camping, etc., with our horses - these are easy to pack in the trailer and fit nicely over gates, panels when stalls are provided. When we have to use the electric coral, we use feed pans.

I thought I would try a couple of these. I have not used them before.

Love the Fortiflex Over the Fence Feeders because of the size and quality. There are many color choices available. The handle makes it easy to carry and the hooks fit easily over most fences.
Sarah K on Mar 15, 2018
Really great buckets. I needed to get some more for my horses that eat a lot of soaked food since these hold more than my other hanging buckets. The bright colors also allow me to color code the horses' food for other feeders.
Madelyn G on Mar 14, 2018
Just something to make feeding time easier
JAYNE C on Feb 2, 2018
I have Pygmy and Nigerian goats and wanted a bucket that not only had a flat back but, one that would hand on the fence. Can't wait to put these up!

Sally S on Jul 31, 2016
Color and needed to add to the existing number of feeders on hand.
Judie M on Jul 14, 2016
These buckets are great for any livestock, horses, goats, lambs an LGDs... they don't seem to be able to turn them over and they are deep enough to hold a good amount of water. You must have a fence to hang them on and we do/
Cindi M on Jun 18, 2016
It appears to be deep enough for a goat milking/feeding.

Mindy D on Aug 21, 2015
trying for the first time , if they stand up will purchase more. Good reviews and want something that could be hung at the right height for horses to eat and can be removed to be washed easily
Steve T on Jun 4, 2015
Convenient way to feed grain - doesn't move around the way buckets do and much easier to remove from the fence for cleaning. Actually, I routinely remove them after feeding, because one of my horses easily takes this feeder off the fence. Not a problem, I thought, until one day my mule got the hooks caught on the chin strap of his fly mask. I discovered it right away, so no harm done, but lesson learned.
Jane T on May 22, 2015
good buckets

Will this bucket fit over a round fence rail?
A shopper on Apr 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If you mean a round wooden rail, no they wont. They fit over a round rail on a metal panel, over a stall door or panel.
Will these hang over round pen panels? I've bought other styles before that won't.
Susan T on Mar 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This is designed to hang on a fence so that it has something to hold it in place
Will they hold a large saltblock?
Carlen E on Feb 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It might hold a salt block. But since it hangs on a fence, I would tend to think a salt block would be a little heavy since they are hard plastic and hang on a fence as my greedy horse has broken the part that hangs over the fence off on one of mine trying to get the last little crumbs of his feed out of the bottom. Also Salt blocks really need to be in something that has drain holes in the bottom to drain moisture. Your salt block will last longer.
Really loving the reviews - having a lot of trouble finding a hanging feeder that will fit on metal tube fence. Seems like this one might! Anyone able to verify?
A shopper on Dec 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes- it will fit over metal tube fence. We take ours when we travel (which is nearly every weekend) to various venues and stalls and we have yet to find a place it does not work. We also have those big water buckets and we often times hang them on the water buckets- very handy!!!!
Are these good for pigs?
Marjorie W on Jul 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, We use it for goats and horses. The feeders have held up well to abuse from those animals. I would not use it for pigs. I am afraid pigs would break them. I asked the rest of the family and they agreed. Pigs could smash them.
will they hang securely on metal pipe fence?
A shopper on May 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have used these feed buckets for the past few years. They hold up great. I hang them on the wooden rail. They don't swivel around this way.
Will is work over round metal gates?
A shopper on May 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I think it will because I use mine on the round pipe corral panels. My horses like to push them off the rail and kick them to the middle of the corral. I use the nylon straps with the ring on one end and the snap ring on the other (sold by State Line Tack) to hold them on so my horses can't do that. Both items hold up really well. I have used mine for 2 years and they are still in really good shape.
How many quarts does this hold?
What size is this?
A shopper on May 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I am not sure how many quarts, but they are large. I would say a gallon. I bought them thinking I could use them for market lambs and horses, but they are too deep to use for the lambs. They work great for the horses and are tough.
Will these hang on chain link fence?
A shopper on Jan 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Probably not a good idea. As the horse consumes his grain there is a good amount of downward pressure on the feeder which would cause the chain link to bend or sag. The feeder should be attached securely to something that will support the downward pressure. Even though ours are screwed into the board fence rails, over time they will crack and have to be replaced.
Is this a 12qt?
A shopper on Nov 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It's larger----16 quarts or 4 gallons. I have 4 of them & they work out great.
how big are they?
d l on Jun 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It is 14 inches deep (top to bottom) with 11 inches that holds the feed. The other 3 inches is used up buy an open area, like a handle. The opening at top is more than wide enough for horses (even some cows) but tapers to a narrower 8 inches (front to back) at the very bottom. According to discription it holds 4 gallons. I have several of these, they take a beating, always getting knocked off the fence. They are very sturdy. I have a neighbor who uses them as flower pots, LoL (I think she drilled holes in the bottom).
How many quarts?
A shopper on Jun 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: 4 Gallon capacity.
Does it ship to the U.S.A and Canada, Or just Canada?
A shopper on Jan 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This item is available for both US and Canada delivery.
How long has this product lasted for you? Are the colors true to the picture? And do you recommend me buying one?
A shopper on Jan 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Years and they are still fine. They are very durable, even out in freezing conditions. I had a horse that use to take it off the fence and toss it around and it never cracked or broke. I ended up having to bolt it on to the rail and drill small drain holes in the bottom so water wouldn't collect in it. only did that because I got tired of trying to find it after he had fun with it. It is meant more for a fence rail or round pen panels since not all stalls have a lip that they can hang on.
Will this bucket hold a flake of hay? T/Y.

will it fit over pipe corral?
Jayme on Sep 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: they fit over a pipe corral but don't hang straight..the fence plank is what keeps the feeder level
what size are these feeders? number of quarts?
A shopper on Aug 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: These are are 4 gallon/16 quart capacity.
what is the capacity ?
A shopper on Aug 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: we had a goat eating out of it so we broke a flake of alfa alfa off and tore it apart to shove it in there. We use them as bird and dog waterers now. The goat wasn't able to eat grain out of the bucket and usually had it off the fence in order to get the last of the hay. My mom didn't want them for her horse because they were to deep for grain. I personally wouldn't ever buy them again as I don't know what animal could really get to the bottom of the feeder. The dogs drink about 3/4 of the way down then we refill them.
Can these feeders be used for cattle?
A shopper on Jul 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't know if a large headed steer could get its head into the bucket. They are pretty rough with feeding troughs. These buckets are great and I think you should try one and see if it works for you. I use them for my horses and they work perfectly. But they have a longer nose than a steer.I would secure it to the fence for the cattle and see if it works. If it does you will be very pkeased.
How much does shipping cost to the US?
A shopper on Feb 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Shipping costs are calculated based on the total weight of items in your order and the shipping method selected. Total shipping charges will automatically display on the Checkout page before you submit your order for completion.
how long are the hangers on the back of the bucket?
A shopper on Oct 31, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Honestly, I believe the hanger portion may be about the same as the standard ones you see at the feed store....BUT....I have found that because this bucket is deeper than the standard ones you find at the feed store it stays more securely because it sits more flat on the fence. I love the one I purchased almost two years ago. It is still in great shape, just barn dirt. My horses just seem to like it better... don't mess with it as much so no damage. As an added tip though you can put one of those rubber bungees(stronger) around the lower portion so our little stinkers don't flip it. Just make sure the metal s-clips are well hidden behind bucket.
What size are they?
Lynn R on Sep 29, 2014
BEST ANSWER: They are the standard diameter but much deeper! Love love love them. They are very durable too, I still have the ones I purchased and they are holding up like new, just barn dirt to wash off! I won't buy the ones from the feed store again these are much better. Horses can't flick grain out as easily because of depth! Also the hot pink one was for a pony so it works well for a smaller horse too.
