Good item
This is a well made item. The only thing I didn't know about this product is that the piece that goes under the tail is hard. I giant look at the product close enough to see it again

Use this with my bareback saddle
This crupper keeps my bareback saddle in place. Great part of my tack.

Very nice for a good price
Like many others I had to make some holes but this was for a large pony. The buckles are little horse shoes and the leather is quality. The tail piece does not irritate and my pony did not mind this at all, even though she never wore one before.

better hardware than most but...
Hardware better than most - leather is dry - leather is not smooth on crupper - it had wrinkles where it contacts the under skin of tail - size is to short even with room for extra holes, the width of the tail crupper is too small as well - I am stuck with a tail crupper that I cannot use since I added the holes for length - dissatisfied all together - wasted my money

Nice crupper for the price
I purchased this item for my round Icelandic mare who hardly has any withers. Her saddle slides forward onto her shoulders and I frequently have to dismount and reposition her saddle. This crupper solved the problem immediately and doesn't seem to bother her at all. I did have to punch a few extra holes in the leather to get this to fit her as it is intended for larger horses. All in all, I'm really pleased with this crupper!

I have been wanting and needing one for my Racking Horse with our Australian saddle, to distribute the weight a little more easily over his short back, as well as later this fall/winter when he begins training under harness....

Needed one and this is well priced. Will replace a britching which is just too much tack.

I went to harness up the mare, and the backstrap was torn in two. No way to fix it, so I was thrilled when I searched SLT and found this. Can't wait to get it so I can get her going this spring. There fabulous trails that I am able to drive her on here in SW VA.

What color is this item available in?

BEST ANSWER: black
do you carry the d-rings to attach to saddles?
A shopper on Oct 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Crupper D rings are generally heavier and installed by a saddle maker or repair person. You can alternately use a tie down or other strap connected to the girth D rings and run under the stirrups and around the back of the seat on a western saddle. On an English saddle you need a T type insert with D ring.
can i get it synthetic?

BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately this crupper is available in leather only.
