I have a 15.2hh mare, w/blood x t/bred. A full size bridle is too long and noseband too big. Should I go for the cob size in this bridle (Henri De Rivel Dressage Bridle)?
tracy v on Nov 15, 2014
Best Answer: Hi, Tracy. First, I love this bridle-great quality leather and construction at a good price. I have 2-both horse size that I use on my TB geldings who are 16.2 and 16.3. They fit perfectly, so I'd be surprised if the same size wouldn't fit your WB/TB cross. While my guys have fairly big heads (wear large horse halters) they have pretty faces with refined features so I like that the nose band isn't too wide like some dressage bridles. I also like that this bridle doesn't have a flash. Keep in mind this bridle has numerous buckles/holes so you can adjust for the best fit and even punch additional holes if needed. Good luck and hope this helps. Pam

I have a twh with the classic twh head. Will the horse size of this bridle fit?
A shopper on Apr 15, 2015
Best Answer: I obtained this model bridle to use on a warmblood with a rather large head, big jowl and thick muzzle. The bridle is quite adjustable, it fit my big girl and was able to be sized to fit my smaller Thoroughbred's head as well. I used to ride many different walking horses and cannot find a reason this should not fit.
I have been pleased with my purchase & the quality of the leather.
Check state line's return policy in case it doesn't fit your horse's head.

I need a dressage bridle for my quarter horse mare. She has a broad forehead and small nose . What do you recommend?
A shopper on Oct 28, 2014
Best Answer: I bought the warmblood size for my Lipizzan with a very big head. I have other bridles which don't fit her at all….too small over her forehead and far too big around her nose. I was very pleased with the way this fit her. The brow band is just right. The noseband has plenty of holes for adjustment. There are a total of 8 holes on the noseband. I use the 3rd one from the end, so I have 5 more to choose from. This is a lovely bridle and I am glad I bought it. I think that it is great value for the price. Mine is black.

is the size horse the same as full?
azzaro on Nov 11, 2015
Best Answer: Yes, the horse size is equivalent to a full size and will fit an average horse easily with plenty of room. I purchased the horse size for a Tennessee walker that is 15.2hands and has a longer than average head. The same bridle fit my 16.3 h Irish warmblood but the browband and noseband were more snug than I would prefer for long term use, so there is quite a bit of adjustment in these bridles. The 15 h FoxTrotter we have would require the Cobb size due to a more refined, pony type head.
Hope this helps.

I'm looking at this bridle for my TB cross and he is very narrow. I'm wondering if he needs the horse size or the cob size. Currently the western bridle he is in is horse sized, but on the next to last smallest hole. His face is slender, but not as short as a cob, so I'm not sure what size to get. Cob or horse size?
Leah D on Aug 14, 2016
Best Answer: The way this bridle fits probably the regular horse size will do. The description of your horse sounds like my Ango Arab and it fit him beautifully. Cob size will definitely be too short. The Cob size fits my Purebred Arab that is 15.3hh. But both can wear a 16 inch browband. I like the solid black bridle with fancy browbands personally. Hope this helps!

can i buy just the throatlatch? i own this bridle but the throatlatch is too small for my cob
A shopper on May 14, 2015
Best Answer: Unfortunately the throatlatch is not available separately. A lot of times riders with this issue will either purchase a larger size and punch holes where needed, or combine two bridles.
