Because my back is killing me after pulling shoes today!
Lynn M on Oct 2, 2018
I chose this stand 1), for the price. I only have two horses and just need a basic stand. 2), it is made of metal. 3) it has two hoof-holding options; and 4), everyone who has used it gave a good review.

I WANT TO TRY TO KEEP ON TOP OF FLARES AND CHIPS BETWEEN FARRIER VISITS
Colleen L on Jul 16, 2018
I'm familiar with this brand and brought one for my green filly. I'm having to reorder a second one because someone at the farm stole the rear hoof sling plus my rasp. At least now I'll have each piece ready to use without a changeout. I was very satisfied with Stateline's price. I'd give it a 5.

68 YO and still horse'n around.

Just pulled shoes to let my horse go barefoot.

The Farrier Stand has worked excellent for us, and our farrier was impressed with it as well. Sometimes there is a need to file the hoof in between trims and this has worked excellent for that use. The stand is very sturdy, even for the impatient young horses we are working with. We have had this stand for a year now and has been used about ten times. The only issue we have had with it, is the magnets on the side; they came loose the first time we used it so we just don't use them at all.

Had great reviews, plus the price is right. I didn't need anything fancy, just for the occasional shoe pull or trim in between farrier visits.
James H on Oct 16, 2017
Least expensive stand I could find. I have a mare who cannot hold shoes and HAS to wear easy boots and often needs trimming in-between farrier visits in order to get them on. It is near impossible to get the correct angle to file her hooves without a stand, I give up. I hated to spend the money but I had no other alternative, she simply won't rest her foot on anything I have tried but does great for the farrier. Her feet spread out like pie plates so in just a few weeks her boots do not fit.

Keep this stand in my trailer for emergency hoof repair on the trail. Heavy construction. It is great.

Husband has bad back, but has always trimmed our horses, and he wishes to be able to continue, this looks very promising.

I saw it at a Farrier store for about $30.00 more and I needed a good stand at a reasonable price.

Purchased this for my husband so he could keep the horses feet cleaned in between visits from the farrier. This stand is great.

price, reviews and recommendation from retailer
Cathy G on Jan 24, 2015
Reviews said it was as sturdy as the "name brand" one, and it's a good price point for me. I like that it is adjustable (my current stand is not).
ROSALIE M on Sep 23, 2014

how big is the base?
A shopper on Mar 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This is a full metal stand, the bottom is around 16" across, it doesn't tip over at all , This is a very well made stand, with three different tops for it, I can use this with front feet also, but it is really for the back feet. I like it a lot.
Is this small enough for minis?
Tracy S on Nov 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I asked the young lady who trims my horses what she thought and here is her answer below. FYI -she has trimmed minis before.
In my personal opinion, this is not best suited to mini's. While you can certainly use it, the height cranks their legs up much higher than necessary and isn't very comfortable for them. That especially applies if you have a mini with any arthritic issue. I would suggest the Hoofjack Mini or the Hoof-it Junior (sold here on Stateline Tack) as better alternatives. The Hoofjack and Hoof-it Stands are also superior in quality- definitely more bang for your buck durability wise.
What kind of plastic is stand made if?
A shopper on Nov 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Mine isnt plastic! It is metal and it is heavy! I love it. I like being able to change from the cradle to the post and the magnet on the side to hold my file. This is a good stand for a great price. If you have a short horse it may be a stretch. But my 14.1 HH Arab has no problem with it.
Does this order come with all three pieces shown in the picture?
Emily C on Dec 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Maintenance/Farrier Stand features adjustable stand, two magnets, one rubber cradle, and one rubber post.
