I bought one of these previously after seeing one of my horses kicking sand in his low feed pan scuffing his toes as he walked up to it. This seems to be the favorite feeder now and it's held up well - and it's easier to find in the snow piles =:-0 - so ordering a second one to keep things "even" between the two (spoiled) boys.

BEST ANSWER: My horse has had this feeder since December or January. She weighs 1023 pounds. She tips over normal pan feeders with her teeth. I have never seen her paw at her feeder. This feeder is a heavy and she moves it all over her stall, but she has never tipped it. She has to work to eat the few remaining pellets due edging in the bottom of the pan.. Ultimately there is build up if pulverized feed likely due to ultimately licking the remaining pellets out. I plan to remove this residue soon. I imagine some soaking and scrubbing. I am a fan of hot water and Dawn dishwashing detergent. I think this pan would be harder to tip due to it’s weight and design. This pan has certainly worked for my purposes. I guess it depends upon how clever and determined your horse is. For the price it was worth a try for me. It is very durable so I doubt that I will need to replace it.
If my 20 year old mare lives long enough and looses enough teeth “choke” will become a problem. I hope a non tipable anti choke feed pan will be available.
I look forward to seeing your review for your pawer.
