We were rebuilding stalls and looking for a great finish. Even my strong horse, he has broken out of everything, has not been able to break this latch.
Linda B on Oct 28, 2015
Just built a new barn and these go with the black iron bars on the stalls.

I chose this latch because it will give my barn the look that it need, and it was what I had been looking for.
Eric R on May 21, 2014
To me it gives a more western look, which I like around the barn. I like the horse shoe theme, blanket bars/bridle hooks.

Can this latch be used on a Sliding barn door?
Alli B on May 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes...this latch can be used on a sliding barn door....it is a heavy deuty slide latch I am using on a stall door. Check your measurements and mounting areas first but this should be sufficient.
can this be used on a fence panel?
A shopper on Nov 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They attach with 6 screws to hold the main part in place. So if you have something to screw them to it would work however it has to be pretty level in the back for it to work. They are very sturdy and strong.
Can this latch be used on a sliding barn door?
Alli B on May 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Although we haven't built the sliders yet, this is what I will use on each door. I've used them in the past at another barn and they worked well.
How thick is the steel?
A shopper on Jan 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: the latch is an actual rod not flat that is what slides to open and close. I'd say the latches are at least 1/4" thick. I've had at least a half dozen different types of latches in my barn and these are the only ones that haven't broken or fallen apart. They slide easily and I can use one hand to open if the other is full. I highly recommend this product and they look nice too!
Does anyone have horses that lean on the gate and do these bend? I'm replacing bent latches but I don't think they were designed to be used on horse stalls.
Sandra A on Aug 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: My horses lean on my stall doors constantly. One of the doors broke, leaving the latch completely intact. I will be buying more of these for my new barn!
Can these be lifted up by horses and escapes happen?
sarah m on May 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Possibly, if it is installed where horses can fiddle with it. Mine are installed on the outside of the stall doors in the barn aisle where horses can't reach them.

A shopper on Mar 23, 2018
