Horseware® ICE-VIBE Boots
ICE-VIBE boots are rechargeable vibrating boots, contoured to fit a horse’s lower leg to help to boost circulation by creating a massage effect. The boots are designed to cool the tissue via cold packs and slow down the blood flow to reduce inflammation, but when combined with massage, the blood flow is not completely restricted, allowing oxygen to be maintained to tired and damaged tissue allowing for a better recovery. The massage effect helps to stimulate the lymph system to remove soreness and swelling as well as improving circulation. Everyday wear and tear on joints can be managed with daily use of the boots, and rehabilitation through injury can be achieved more effectively.
Features:
Portable massage boots with hot/cold inserts to create warm or cold circulation treatments that can be used before or after exercise or during rehabilitation
Cold packs reduce blood flow, slowing down inflammation
Combine the effects off cooling and massage therapy to effectively treat strains, ligament, and tendon damage
Movement created by the massaging effect can help to stimulate the lymph system to move out existing inflammation
Easy to use
Stretchy pockets allow for easy insertion or removal of panels
Secure Velcro fastenings prevent slipping

Very happy with these boots. My mare got cellulitis last year and although healed, tends to show some thickened areas in her leg. After exercise, the ice vibe boots brought the leg down nicely.

Would this be good for a horse that had a previous tendon issue?
BEST ANSWER: Hi, I used Ice-Vibe Boots on my horse during an eight month layoff for a tendon issue. I followed the full protocol my vet recommended and my horse is fully recovered and has been in full work for 6 months. The Ice-Vibe boot works the same as any other boot with the addition of being able to use the vibration to enhance the icing process. I think they are great boots but they aren't magic. They won't speed up recovery in any way - you still have to do everything else your vet tells you to do.

Definitely. I use these two ways on a horse with a previous tendon injury: 1) prior to workout (while I'm grooming/tacking up) without ice; and 2) after workout with ice. They are a great therapy option to help increase blood flow before and after workouts, and help keep inflammation at bay. I'm not a vet, so it's best to with a professional and your specific situation, but they work well for me!
Yes! We got these for our aging dressage horse who has had a tendon issue and we think it helps with his recovery after hard work. We have also noticed a decrease in swelling and fullness around his fetlock joint. We use them post workout. Our vet recommended them.
I would think so. I use mine for pre-race warm ups and then the ice packs for cool downs, so I really don't have any lameness issues. I love them.
I purchased and use mine for a suspensory issue and do like them. I have not used them for tendon but would guess they would help that as well.
