Product Summary:

K&H Thermo-Hose™

This clever heated water hose provides water during the colder months of the year. The Thermo-Hose makes access to water easy and convenient. It's ideal for use in cold weather; the heater automatically shuts off when the weather gets warmer. Simply plug in 20 minutes before intended use.

Note: DO NOT use crank style hose reel. Hose DOES NOT heat water, only keeps it from freezing. The hoses use 100 watts for the 20-foot, 200 watts for the 40-foot, and 250 watts for the 60-foot. Always disconnect from water source when not in use. Store on hook, coiled up on the ground, or laying flat.

  • Use for filling ponds, water gardens, hot tubs, and spas, and cleaning dog kennels
  • Great for horses, cows, pigs, and other livestock
  • Solid brass couplings
  • Top-quality, double-walled hose
  • Turns itself off during warmer weather
  • 5/8-inch double wall rubber hose
  • Six-foot power cord

Have two already and have purchased an additional one as a gift. They allowed us to have ice free water delivery to our buckets last year. The rubber is flexible enough to move buy unrolls easily without kinks.

Need thermo hose and State Line Tact had the right price for the hose.
BillyE on Nov 30, 2014
thought I could fill stock waterers but it is too much trouble to use. It must be detached after every use and takes 30 minutes pre-warming and it did not seem to really warm up.

PERFECT for cold weather.

I am running 40' of conduit 2' under ground from my shop to where I am parking my camper. I will run this hose through the conduit. Between the heated hose, and depth of the conduit, I should have no issues with the hose freezing up on me.

Can you hook two of these hoses together?
Dallas F on Nov 12, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes the hoses can be connected. However the couplings are not insulated and will freeze. When not in use all connections from the water source need to be unhooked and the connection between both.
can you use an outdoor extension cord with these hoses?
A shopper on Nov 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes the long outdoor orange one is what I used. FYI these hoses don't work very good if you have a well and pump controls for the hoses. I have heard they work well with regular water
what is the water temperture coming out?
A shopper on Mar 19, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The water will be whatever the temperature is coming out of your faucet/hydrant. The hose doesn’t heat the water. It just heats the hose so water doesn’t freeze in it.
Would this work to wash the horses with warm water?
taran j on Oct 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It just melts ice but if you have running water from well it will not get hot enough to keep water warm as it goes through the hose. The hose itself will not make warm water.Enter
can you leave it hooked to a heated hydrant?
A shopper on Oct 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The directions say to unhook the hose when not in use. So i would say "no".
can i use in plastic water tank for outside?
A shopper on Nov 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes but you want to have a "heated" plastic water tank or a heating element to put in the plastic water tank so the water tank doesn't freeze. Hose works well moving water from the hose bib to the heated plastic water tank
can it be left outside with electricity plugged in?
Holly B on Dec 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes it can be left plugged in if you want to leave it on during brutal temperatures. Or you can plug it in 10-15 minutes before you need to use it to dethaw any ice, which is what I do. I also make sure to hang the end up after I unhook it from the spiket because if you leave it on the ground water will freeze in the first 5 inches of the nozzle where there is no electric insulation making the whole use of the hose useless. As long as I leave the nozzle hanging up to keep water from pooling in it I love this hose!
Which hose is better? The rubber one or the pvc one. Which one holds up better in winter?
A shopper on Nov 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I bought the rubber one because I have horses and really cold winter temps. The horses have stepped on it with no breakage. Also it has never frozen when we've taken the hose off the hydrant after using it. (It will freeze if the hose is left connected to the hydrant.) It has held up really well to both the horses and the weather. Makes life easier in the winter. Haven't tried the pvc one because I thought it wouldn't come back if stepped on by a horse. This rubber one is VERY heavy duty.
Can u connect hoses?
Morgansplaytime on Oct 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes - just like any standard garden hose, but you'll need a second outlet to plug in the heater of the second hose. we use two to reach down the length go the barn to the stock tank outside.
Buying it to use in RV for extended periods. Will it work for months at a time?
A shopper on Oct 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, K & H advises that this hose can take heavy and/or frequent use. Here are the instructions from the clickable link in the product description:
Victor T on Dec 8, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Bought one and it worked perfectly until the weather turned colder. Found it worked until about -15 to -20 then was froze solid. Didn't seem to work after that. I left it out side as I do not have a barn. Would think that it probably would need to be brought in after use. Which really defeats the purpose that I bought it for.
