I've purchased hundreds of dollars in masks over the years that my horses continually take off. Kensington is the best! Because of the double darts over each eye, the mask stays well away from the tactile hairs over each eye therefore reducing the irritation. Kensington has just developed a 90% UV protective mask . I use it for my horse that had his third eyelid removed due to squamous cell carcinoma. He now leaves the mask on on day!

Pasture neighbor keeps pulling my horses grey Cashel fly mask off my horse. Going to try bay on bay color mask to see if neighbor horse will leave it alone. My horse is recovering from uvitis and his eye is painful so hopefully this mask will fit correctly and not rub or contact his eyes. I ordered two sizes to see which would work the best for him.

Purchase to replace same product that my horses have worn for 2.5 years. Fit and wear well, like that the colors match horse color, look classy not gawdy.

Does hay get stuck easily in the mesh? I have a "supermesh" mask from Kensington and hay gets stuck and stays stuck in that one.
SUE MOY B on Nov 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't seem to have an issue with hay getting stuck. However, my horse is in a pasture most of the time and the feeder is a large tub. I'm not sure if it would be different if she was in a barn stall as the feeder is different.
The fleece on my horse's fly mask gets covered in burrs that irritate him. Is there a trim that burrs will not stick to?
Margot` R on Aug 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I prefer the fly masks that have webbing around the edges. The burrs/stickers aren't attracted to the webbing, & the masks stays on better with the 1 opening for both ears. My horses frequently lose the masks with covered ears & ones with separate ear openings. My horses turnout is amongst brush, scrub oaks, etc.
how do I figure out the sizing of these masks? In some masks my horses are an Xlarge and in others a large.
A shopper on Jul 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have TWH. I use med or large on him. As expected, one is slugger and one looser. Both are ok and do the job keeping flies out if his eyes. I don't think there is a size rule so you could probably use either. There is flexibility in fit w large velcro to secure it. These masks are very well made and neighbors do not remove it from him. Not so w other brands.
does this mask have double eye darts?
A shopper on Aug 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Assuming that you are talking about where the seams converge and create a point, like a tent over the eye/temple area, then yes. This fly mask is sturdy and well-made and it looks very classy on my mare!
Does this fly mask have the throat latch opening to lead him out of the pasture?
A shopper on Jun 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: That's a different model. I found that one with the hole for a lead rope doesn't open and close as slick. You can hold this one with your hand, if your horse will follow with a light feel, but might be more challenging if you have multiple horses to lead... :-)
