I absolutely love this saddle bag! It has just enough padding in the inside to help protect my saddle, but not too much to make it bulky. The extra zipper compartment on top is enough for an all purpose pad and a couple of baby pads or whatever you want to put in it. The two side pockets are also mesh and good for the smaller things that I would normally misplace! I would definitely get another one!

4th one!
We have 3 bags of the same line but for western saddles and are thrilled to have a new bag for my daughter's new jumping saddle. Zippers are sturdy, shoulder strap is sturdy. the bottom strap makes it easy to hang upside down in the tackroom, out of the way. Only caveat is that the compartment for the saddle pad is too small and the wrong shape to hold any of her blankets or pads, but they fit nicely on top of the saddle in the main compartment. We use the bags everyday and and drag them all over the country side for saddles that are family heirlooms past and future and the bags very much worth the investment.

Exactly what I needed!
I did a ton of research before purchasing this bag. A couple sites had mixed reviews and some complaining of it being to big and bulky. I have had many different saddle bags over the years and I can honestly say this is one of the best saddle bags I have had in my 20 years of riding. You could argue that it has a little bulk to it but that bulk has compartments to store saddle pads, spurs, gloves and you can even fit you stirrups in your side pockets. The clip system hold the two sides of the saddle together which makes carrying alot easier. The bag that this is replacing was actually bulkier, I couldn't store anything in it, and the minute you slung it over your shoulder it took on a mind of its own. The interior is padded and the liner is soft. Overall this was the best purchase at an awesome price!

I love this bag!
I bought this last year mainly to help me pack my saddle around. I am a college student who was lucky enough to find a stable close to school that will let me come ride and I often ended up taking my saddle home with me on longer vacations at home so that I could ride at the stable there. The pockets are a life saver. I keep all of my little important things like gloves and spurs and even rag for wiping off my saddle right there on the bag so I can't possibly forget them. The large pocket on top is big enough to fit a couple saddle pads and I also have my half-back pad in there for when I need it. This essentially holds everything except my helmet and pants. Plus, my saddle was kind of a project fixer-upper that needed some serious TLC. The bag helps keep it clean and clear of dust, cat hair, etc, and controls moisture so that it doesn't dry out like it might if I always left it sitting out in the dry Idaho air. One of the best investments I've made.

Had to buy a 2nd one for my 2nd saddle!
I've had one of these for awhile and have really loved it - a great way to protect your investment in a good saddle, especially on-the-go. Material is very durable; zippers are good quality; the product is well-concieved and well-made. I especially like the pockets on the top and on the sides - a feature that I couldn't find on any other saddle carrying bag.

Great protective bag to take to shows!
Had trouble finding a protective bag that I could transport my saddle AND sit it on a saddle rack at the same time! Most carriers with padding don't allow the flaps to split. With the pad storage and side pockets, it makes it easy to keep my things separate from the others in the tack stall:) I put a con as "pricey" so I watched for Stateline to have a discount coupon.

will this fit a dressage saddle?
Carmella K on May 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It depends on how ling your flaps are. This bag fits my daughters Stuben Juventus jumping saddle like a glove. I have a Bates Isabelle Dressage 16.5" saddle and I have found the dressage version of this bag and it fits the flaps much better, but is a tighter fit. Stateline has the dressage version available if you search for it. This "English Saddle" particular bag is roomier and my dressage saddle fits fine, but I have to work it a little and if my flaps were any longer, this bag would not zip. I love both bags.

Good luck!
