Product Summary:

Kool Kurtains Dutch Door Topper

Cool off your barn and sheds with the Kool Kurtains Dutch Door Topper. Kool Kurtains are made from CS80, CSTechnologies' exclusive proprietary fabric that is extremely durable, breathable, weather-resistant, flame-retardant, anti-microbial, and has been scientifically tested and certified to deflect up to 80% of the sun's heat rays while simultaneously screening out bugs and birds.*

Kool Kurtains provide a cooler and healthier environment for horses and people, and also reduce the health risks associated with mosquitos and flies. By keeping out insects, you reduce the money normally spent on fly sprays and insecticides, and also help reduce your use of barn fan to save on energy costs. Airflow will minimize the opportunity for the growth of mold and mildew. The dark color of this curtain makes it ideal for run-in sheds.

*Note: Percentage of deflection varies with the angle of the sun.

  • Keeps barns, stables, stalls, and run-in sheds cooler by deflecting heat of sun's rays

In the product photo there is a visible 3-4 inches open at the bottom. Wont the mosquitoes just fly in from the bottom? Or is it not necessary to go all the way to the ground?

I have outside kennels that get a lot of sun in the summer, they have metal roofs but get the late afternoon sun. Would this be good for the west side of them?

BEST ANSWER: The holes are stitched small to make the horse have to work harder and eat slower. I have the hanging freedom feeder and in less than a year one of my horses ripped a hole in it
How do the curtain panels stay closed or close themselves after a horse or person walks thru?
SUSAN W on Dec 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They part as a horse or person passes through them, then fall back into place.
how do these attach?
Marilyn A on Nov 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I hung the Kool Kurtains using the grommets at the top of each curtain. I nailed a big nail at an angle up so the grommet slipped over the nail and can't blow away. Super easy -- they've been up for over 2 1/2 years
