trying something new on my horse
barbara t on Apr 17, 2019
My mare likes the Eggbutt rings and the French link mouth. I am wanting to use my black bridle now and then when I ride my Dressage saddle without having to change the bit each time from my Hunt bridle.

My horses do really well in the french link bits because they don't have the nutcracker affect .

Love the bits. No pinch cheeks and no nutcracker action .
Linda Ruth S on Dec 12, 2013
Even though the 5 inch is a little big, my 10 year old gelding, who has a low upper palate and has never had a bit before, has quickly gotten used to the French link. I'm now buying a slightly smaller width and expect him to be just as happy! Thank you, too, for the quick service.
Sincerely, Kathy

what size to buy?
A shopper on Dec 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It depends on your horses mouth. If it already goes in a bit that fits, you can measure that bit and buy the same size. If the bit is ill fitting, or you don't have a bit, you'll need to measure your horses mouth to buy the correct size.
What size will fit a 15.3hh OTTB Gelding?
A shopper on Jul 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Most average size horses take a 5" mouthpiece, but you should measure your horse to be sure. If you have a bit that fits you're already using, you can measure the mouthpiece on that one, or another way is to use a soft plastic drinking straw. Make a mark near one end. Put it in the bit position inside the horse's mouth with that mark right at the corner of the mouth. Put a mark on the straw where it comes out of the horse's mouth on the other side. Measure between the two marks. As a general rule, the bit size will need to be 1/4 of an inch longer than this measurement to allow enough room so that extra width of the bit rings or shanks do not squeeze inward on the horse's mouth.
What size will fit a 16-17hh Quarter Horse Barrel Racing Mare?
A shopper on Mar 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: You really need to measure the horse to see because we have a 14.3 hand quarter mare that uses a 5 1/4”, an 18.2 hand Oldenburg that only needs a 5” and then our Thoroughbred is 16.2 hands and uses a 4 3/4”. We have this bit in all sizes available.
