Why did you choose this?

Because of research and I did, I discovered that sweet iron will help the horse salivate to keep his mouth wet. Also the French link will lay flat keeping the horse more comfortable. I can't wait to try it because I am used to riding in a Dr. Cook's bitless bridle.

Good quality. Have to wait for horse size bridle to arrive to try on.

French link better for horse
Mary M on Apr 19, 2014
Qualety but to thick for my shallow mouthed mare
Helena Elizabeth W on Apr 9, 2014
Need a 5 1/2" bit that isn't a typical snaffle. Like the curved mouth Korsteel has and iron or copper mouth.

Can this bit be used western style riding?
A shopper on Sep 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: To me you can use any bit english or western. It's not really a typical western bit, but most horses like this bit, so give it a try and see what your horse thinks. Just be careful that the loose ring style doesn't pinch your horse's mouth.
Does this bit run true to size?

Is this bit a loose ring?
A shopper on Apr 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes it is a loose ring, and I especially like the link in the middle rather than just 2 pieces connected together.
My horse is sensitive and fussy, will this be a good bit? He usually wears a size 5in bit, should I get 5.5in?
Rachel C on Aug 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Mine is sensitive and fussy as well but honestly I didn't notice a big difference with this bit. It didn't seem to make things worse but it didn't make things better either.
The product summary says the bit rings are 6.6 inches. That HAS to be wrong. What size are the bit rings?
Sylvia K on Jan 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We apologize for the error.
Cheek or Ring Size: 3"
can I buy a 6.5 happy mouth french link snaffle? and what does sweet iron mean?
Evelyn S on Jul 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This bit is available in 5" and 5.5" only. Sweet Iron easily rusts, which encourages salivation from the horse and acceptance of the bit.
