caroly c on May 10, 2018
I bought one and found very soft leather and taper end makes very easy to slip around the hooks

The Martin name means quality and that counts where safety is concerned

I like the tapered end and it looks like it can hold up to work

because I have some saddles that have nylon straps that are too thick and they won't stay tight...So, I thought I would try leather.
Robyn W on May 26, 2016
I like that it's not bulky, hope it lives up to it's reviews!

Good quality and if you want a leather cinch this is the one, not bulky under your leg like other thick leather cinches and just as strong. Great product!

Is this strap available in black leather?
A shopper on Jul 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately there are no other color choices.
Does the dye on the Martin straps run when your horse sweats? I have a light colored horse. Thank you.

BEST ANSWER: I have a black and white paint. The strap does come in contact with some of his white coloring and I have not noticed any discoloration from the strap. This is a great strap. I'm petite and my horse is 16+ hands, but I am still able to pull this cinch tight. I give it 5-stars.
what is the name of the strap for the left side of the girth?
A shopper on Oct 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Some call it latigo. Some csll it billett. Right side is called off billett, left side is near side billett. There are different types depending on preference of how it attaches to the rings, see utube video How to rig your saddle latigos.
Can you use this as a cinch strap on both sides of the saddle?
Paula J on Mar 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You could, it's a lot of leather for the off side to mess with (that's my opinion- I prefer an off billet because I have to change girths all the time for diff size horses). Just depends on personal preference & what you are wanting/needing. I love Martin's straps because they are longer than most & not as bulky under my leg.
Is this leather color more brown, dark brown or burgundy?
Rock100 on Nov 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This latigo is definitely brown, a really nice piece of leather. I am short with a tall horse and this latigo allows me to tighten my own cinch, no problemo. I recommend it unconditionally even if it is not exactly the brown you want, or you could have one custom made, but I would duplicate this design. Happy Trails-
