These are great and work very well. The horse learns that they are controlling their own pressure/out come. The velcro is strong and with it velcroing on both sides where it connects makes it even stronger. The fleece is soft and protects against rubbing on the horses legs...

Velcro for strap.
The Velcro can be irritating to the skin/hair. Was too large for large pony fetlock and if used on hock the Velcro rubs the hair off.

Product straps fell apart
I didn't even use this product for 24 hrs and the straps ripped. I was very disappointed. I took the chains off and put them on a heavy duty dog color with the fleece over it and it has lasted since. I can't believe stateline would offer something of this poor quality on their site.

Doesn't work if it doesn't stay on
The velcro was really weak and my horse pulled it off in a half hour then it never stayed on right again.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
ITS A GREAT IDEA EXCEPT THAT THE CHAIN IS ON THE PART THAT STICKS TOGETHER SO WHEN THEY DIG OR MOVE THERE LEGS IT HAS SO MUCH WEIGHT WHERE IT GOES TOGETHER THAT IT JUST COMES OPEN AND FALLS OFF. I GUESS YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

Can easily come off
The velcro closure is located where the chain is attached to the collar, making it very easy for this to come off the horses foot. To me this is totally useless if the horse can easily get it off.

Works well
Decent product for an excellent price. My horse manages to get it off but it has done its job and in little time.

Good price, but needs adjustment
Bought these for a horse that kicks the stall wall and paws while in the trailer. I put them on one time and have not put them on again. I have heard the chains work really well, but when I got these put on my horse, the first time he stepped on the chain the outer velcro flap came undone. This is because the ring holding the chain is sewn into the outer velcro flap of the velcro sandwich. I am sure they would stay on without issue if the ring were sewn on differently. I plan on removing the ring from the velcro flap and putting it on elsewhere on the nylon in hopes of still being able to use the chain.

Had leather kicking chains and they bruised my horse's coronary band. Wanted something softer.

Very useful. My horse paws when has to stand for a long time. He doesn't paw when these are on. Sometimes they slip down over his knees.

how long is the strap?
A shopper on Jun 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I forgot I modified this product to fit around the stifle. Using them on pasterns made me too nervous so I bought additional Velcro to make an extender. The original strap fits about any horse sized pastern but I think would be too big for a pony. Sorry for my false original response!
