BEST ANSWER: I don't know why it wouldn't. The release is centered on the rope. You would coil your rope differently being left handed but the release wouldn't be affected since it is on last coil.
IS THIS A SOFT ROPE? I NEED IT FOR TRAINING A HORSE

BEST ANSWER: Yes it is to soft to rope well in my opinion. The rope keeps an irregular shape because it is in between stiff and soft. The metal breaksway it comes with is not reliable either. I should have sent it back.
