I guess I should have looked closer. This thing is SHORT I have no idea what trailer this could be used in at all. If you are hanging it from the top of your trailer in the regular hooks like you are suppose to you are going to be hanging your horse the whole ride.

It does its thing.
Love that it's adjustable and it works well to keep inquisitive horse noses where they belong. Was a much brighter blue than the picture led me to believe - but that's a good thing! It matches the rest of my gear.

From the picture I expected these to be adjustable to a much longer length. They may be too short to tie a smaller horses/pony in our trailer.Seems like good and sturdy ties though.

nice tie
this has worked quite well for us. We have two trailers, and the 4 horse needed three. The two horse needed one, so got a bunch, and we sometimes have some naughty horses, so these are both economical, and useful/strong

This is not the trailer tie for you if you think your horse might test it. The very first time we used it, our mare pulled back and the nylon tore! Not cool!
Broke the first time it was used
Yep, I should have know better from looking at it. Not going to hold a tricky horse. He yanked on it and it broke, luckily the buckle didn't hit either one of us in the eye. This is not something to use if it is going to be tested in any way.

I just purchased one for my wash area. Will these ties release on their own if a horse sits back and pulls? It appears to be quick release if you pull it down, but if a horse is scared and freaking out there's no way to guarantee I'd be able to get close enough to release it.
BEST ANSWER: If the horse pulls hard enough, the snaps may open or the can break, but the force required to do so may cause the tie to snap back onto the horse, startling it further or causing an injury. Horses can & do also lunge forward while cross tied. At the eventing barn where I ride, we always use 2 ties in the wash stall, one on either side of the horse’s halter. In addition, we believe the safest set up is to always attach the tie to the wall plate/ring with a single strand of whatever baling twine you have. The baling twine breaks more easily than either snap & the tie generally will not snap back & hit the horse, scaring (scarring) them further. It’s always a good idea to stay with the horse at all times when tied.

No, these are not self-release snaps. The panic snap is designed for a quick release, but it would need a human hand to do so. It is always recommended to have the panic snap on the wall end of the tie.
