Dependable
I have a palomino mare with white mane and tail. I've tried lots of shampoos, and Orvis dependably gets out stains and leaves the tail CLEAN and ready for conditioning. I do recommend you condition well after using Orvis, as it's pretty powerful.

Shampoo for horses with allergies/sensitivities
Have been using this for years! We started using this when we had a gelding that was allergic to many horse products. This is straight lauryl sulfate stuff and it cleans quite well. Don't need all those perfumes and fancy chemicals. One big jar of Orvus lasts for ages. Finally had to order another one.

This product has been around for decades. I use it in the laundry, shampoo for human, dog and horse. Rinses clean and leaves no residue. Pure soap and a little goes a long way. Hope it's around for decades more. Barbara, Red Bluff, Ca.

Best shampoo ever
Makes whites whiter, darks clean without bleaching, great suds, and rinses clean. Bottle doesn't tip over and wash down the drain. Lasts forever.

Best horse shampoo on the market.
Great for white horses. Don't waste your time on purple shampoo. Too much of a mess. This is awesome on white horses I know I have pure white horses and always get rave reviews

Love this stuff. It really works on cleaning my horses coats

Orvis paste makes great suds; yet rinses quickly.
I do not use Orvis Paste as a livestock wash. I use it as a gentle soap to wash my quilts & hand laundry. Good suds then rinses our quickly & well.

Easy to use with a wash mit and stays where you put it instead of running all over.

Very good shampoo to have on hand for grays! The ingredients are not irritating and you do not have to worry about your horse turning blue if you leave on too long. Plus it does not dry out the skin. Great for sensitive horses. Can be used on small animals too!

Has anyone used this for washing saddle pads and horse blankets? How much do you use? I've used the Leather Therapy wash products, and LOVE them. But they are expensive. Wondering if Orvus does as good as a job? I think it would be fine for Wool pad liners too...

For the 10 years I spent riding/showing at a Class A Morgan show barn, and we used to used Orvus exclusively on ALL the show horses. Nothing cleans a Champion show horse like Orvus!

BEST ANSWER: No. We only used this on our GP Lippizan horse. Works great. Very mild. Especially good for sensitive skin horses like our mare is.
I was told that this item would be good to use to clean antique upholstery (needle point) Does anyone know?
A shopper on Feb 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I would make a solution of teaspoon Orvus Paste with 2 cups of water.
Apply to needlepoint with a brush or sponge. Use damp towel or sponge to "rinse".
I find that Orvus Paste is a great stain remover. I rub stain with liberal amount of paste and
put garment in laundry.
Can u use this on dogs?
Elyssia H on Apr 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I don't see any reason you couldn't, there's nothing in it that would be harmful to Dogs skin, it works Great for my horse and doesn't seem to dry out my hands.

directions for cleaning tombstones?
A shopper on Oct 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Start with the standard capful in about a gallon of either hot or cold water. Then, if that doesn't seem strong enough, you can try another capful.
