Great product bit pricey but it does oerform
Used several times now on trail rides. Keeps the pad from slipping and thus, the saddle stays put. I do recommend cleaning after use to retain like new condition using a mild soap and warm water, allowing to dry throughly. Store in package when not in use will give years of production. I did buy two to rotate.

Great for sore withers
Our Thoroughbred racehorse was sore on her withers and back despite many pads. We tried the Ovation Silicon Anti-Slip Pad, and she loved it! I would recommend this to everyone for any horse!

If I use the anti-slip pad can I also have a wither relief pad on?
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can. We do for our 20 year old gelding and 31 year old mare and it works great.

Which way does this go on the horse?
BEST ANSWER: The rounded end goes towards the back of the horse. Think of how a saddle is built...The back is a curve and it has the two flaps where your legs are. The flaps are by the withers and the whole non-slip pad goes under the saddle pad.

The part on the right of the picture goes on the withers and the rounder bit on the left goes under the seat of the saddle

Can you tell me how thick it is?
BEST ANSWER: I have not personally measured it but I would say less than 1/2 inch think. I love the pad. My mare has no withers and I use it with both my English and Western saddles to prevent saddles from slipping.

very thin it's a great pad and a great deal price wise.
It's pretty thin. I would say maybe 1/2 an inch or so.

BEST ANSWER: We love this pad. I had 2 tad coffin non slip pads and they ripped. This new pad has done the trick and because it is clear it doesn't show of it peaks out. You have to rinse it off after each use to keep it sticky. I would buy this again. It is well vented and breathes well.

It has tiny holes and breathable I love it and use it every ride. its durable too

Does this go under the English pad or under the saddle over top the pad?

The pad goes under every other pad directly on horse then other pads and saddle. This pad has really helped my saddle from sliding and I have really appreciated it.!!
I use it on top of the pad under the saddle.
wrong , it goes directly on the horses back , otherwise how does it help the saddle from slipping ? it is supposed to go on the horses back

how well does this pad hold up had anti slip pad ripped in second ride had to discard ?
BEST ANSWER: We have bought numerous brands of silicon gel pads. We find they last a year+ ...we ride numerous times a week and wash them when dirty/sweaty. Eventually, they become gummy and its time to replace. "Ovation" pad is thicker than some brands. We expect to have the same results with the "Ovation" name stamped on it!

I love this pad it has held up fine cleans well and no longer does my saddle move around no rips or tears a good buy!!
