Robin C on Feb 7, 2018
Always used this product but in powder form. Here in South Louisiana the humidity is horrible always turning my powder into paste. The Granules are not effected by our humidity and are perfect for me and my weather conditions. Plus I think less is lost when adding to feed.

My 22+ yr old feedlot rescued Appaloosa gelding has been on the powdered formula to help with loose stools. Wanted to try to see which formula worked better for him...the granules or the powder.

horse has been on antibiotics and repetitive wormer, needs pro bios
Connie B on Sep 13, 2015
I wouldn't do without probiotics in my daily regimen, since 70+ % of our immune system is in our guts, so I always feed this to my horses. I love that it includes several strains, including the "plantarium", which is necessary for the hind gut. Yes probiotics are excellent for digestive health, but also do so much more, for just pennies a day, with Probios.

What type of consistency are the granules? Is it similar to salt or suger granules?
Anne M on Jul 6, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I bought the probios granules because I thought it would be easier to mix with grain than the probios powder. It wasn't. It is coarser than salt or sugar. It fell to the bottom of the feed bucket and my horse was able to pick around it and I was constantly throwing some out when I cleaned out his bucket. The powder doesn't stick to regular grain either so I mix it with a tiny bit of sweet feed first then add it to his regular grain (Safechoice). If sweet feed isn't an option, you can sprinkle a little water atop the dry grain before adding the powder. Hope this helps.
My 15 year old Paint mare has coliced twice in 2 months even wearing a grazing muzzle. She stays in a dry lot half days with a few hours turnout wearing muzzle. Also is picky abou to mixing meds into grain. Would this be helpful to her?
A shopper on May 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Probios is really good for horses that don't have constant forage, different feeds, stress...anything that would cause a horse to have excess stomach acid in the prevention of developing ulcers. Being in a dry lot mostly, the type of colic would be important. If it was sand causing the discomfort, a sand clear sup is your friend. Talk to your vet if it was a blockage and prevention measures. Gas or stomach ache type colic might be helped with this but granules tend to fall thru the grain. Handy for a none picky eater. I'd go with a powder that you can easily add molasses too and get it to stick.
Is this product flavored?
Linda C on Mar 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: No. As much as I love the price of this product it seems that most of it goes to waste since it's in small granules form and they end up on the bottom of the bucket. Asked i don't have a picky eater. So i started buying probios in a cookie or treat form. This way I know my horse gets the full benefit of it. It's a bit pricey but nothing goes to waste and on a long run because it's not wasted it's a better deal. Also if it's on sale I buy more so i save even more.
