BEST ANSWER: Professionals Choice advises us that the larger size is 12.25" long and 12" wide around the cannon bone. The medium size is 10.75" long and 10.5 wide around the cannon bone.
I'm new to horse ownership - i have always leased and used the stuff that came with the horse. I know there are different things out there for different purposes, but not sure how to figure out IF i should boot my horse and if so when and with which one. We are not professional at all, she is just my fun horse. One day i might jump her over small jumps, then next day trail ride her through the mountains, and then the next day do some fun barrels or trail classes at a local horse show. I know there are "jumping Boots" and reiners / barrel racers have boots they were (skid boots i think) ... but if its just for fun do i still use them for occasion activity? or is there an all around boot to protect her for whatever fun today brings ... or should i boot her at all?

She doesn't over-reach and clip herself so i know i don't need bellboots. And she seems really flexible and agile. If it helps she is a very stocky AQHA foundation mare from a long line of reiners, cutters, barrel racers, and stock. Her line comes from texas from "real Ranch work" verus competition lines.

Thank you!

BEST ANSWER: I would consult with your local farrier or Vet. Unfortunately bec we do not know the horse we cannot make that judgement call.
