Sizing Guide:
Measure from (A) at the center point of the chest, over the high point of the shoulder, and to (B) at the rear of the hind leg. Rambos are sized in three inch increments. When you have the measurement, choose the nearest from the table (see Downloadable Resource-Sizing Guide). If you measure between sizes, measure up for Rhino®, Amigo® and Amigo® Stock Horse blankets.

Please note:
Make sure that the tail is lifted over the fillet strap and that the strap is securely attached on both sides. This will prevent the blanket from blowing forward. Where possible pull the tail through the strapping on the inside of the tail flap.
When closing the surcingles on a blanket secure the middle one first and then cross over the two outer surcingles. Make sure the surcingle hangs at least 4 to 8 inches below the horse's belly.

I am very happy with this sheet. It has performed well, not too hot, but strong. Keeps the gnats off of the neck and tail due to it’s liner, and the flies off the rest of him. Although he has a miner rub on one side of his shoulder, it is the best fitting sheet, (winter rain or fly sheet), he has ever worn. He has only had it a month, I am hoping it lasts a long time. I am wondering if the Rambo rain sheets fit the same as this fly sheet-if so, I am buying one.

Runs big but great!
My TBs are much happier in these sheets! Not super hot under them like other brands. They do run big ... I had to go down a size for all 3 of my guys.

Well made, durable turnout fly sheet
Love this sheet!! Only downside is it can be hot & heavy when wet. I live in FL so it is hot but bug protection wins! Easy to hose off, goes once a year to get professionally cleaned & stored for winter. Very durable, great fit, neck coverage is vital for me. I have only had to replace the tail strap, very easy to fix.

This is my first Rambo purchase. I needed something to protect my OTTB from the flies on top of the sun. I like that it feels very light weight so it isn't heavy on my horse. It protects the flies great but he still sweats under it. Not horrible white sweat but it is still there. I would still recommend this fly sheet just not during 85+ weather. I am not sure if any sheet actually won't make a 1200+lb animal not sweat in the heat to be honest! My horse wears a 78, which is what I bought and it is slightly big on him BUT after a few uses I am actually happy it runs slightly bigger to give room for more breathability. The mesh material feels rough, but I have another fly sheet that is very soft and it actually is much heavier and I think causes my other horse to sweat more. I will be purchasing another for my second boy. I live in Southern MD where one day it will be 60 and the next day 90.

Costly? Sure, but it outlasts most other fly sheets
This is the second Protector fly sheet I've bought. I bought the other two years ago and it's still being used by my retired horse. This new sheet is for the horse I'm now riding. Neither horse has tried to remove or destroy the Protector, so I guess it's comfortable. I can't ask the horses.

Great fly sheet
This fly sheet is pricey but fits my Hanoverian really well and doesn't make him sweat as much as the weatherbeeta I've used for years. He's also been struggling with rain rot and this sheet seems to make the water roll right off of it! If he does get wet under, he dries quickly as a result of the breathable material. There are spots on the sheet, where it seems to fold or bunch when he lays down, that look a little like they've "pulled" but seems to still fit well. The belly coverage doesn't quite cover his whole belly.... But he is quite round :) Very happy with it even if it's expensive - hope it lasts!

Purchasing this again for another horse. This is still in nearly new condition after two years. Best quality and easily stands up to rolling and rubbing. Keeps the black coat color in the horse due to its light reflecting quality.

I have 2 warmblood size sheets exactly like this product that have lasted over 5 years. Quality is excellent. The sheets have survived the humidity and bugs of Midwest summers. While the horses to perspire under these sheets, they do not do so excessively unless the heat and heat index are excessive.

spent a lot of money on 3 other fly sheets. Have two horses and this is THE BEST fly sheet ever. My quarter horse is 16.2hh, standard build. My paint is 15 hh and built like a brick. Very long tail cover is a bonus for my bay as it keeps the sun from bleaching most of his black tail. The neck cover is detachable. Belly guard is top notch! Sturdy material that is like an open weave but small enough to keep mosquitoes off. Easy to hose down if they roll in the mud. Front closure is STURDY.

Purchased this product because my other fly sheets kept ripping. Got this one on sale and have been extremely pleased with it! My horse lives out in the field with other horses and so far this is the only one that has lasted more than a few months without any huge holes ripped in it.

can you return the sheet if it doesn't fit? my current sheet says it is size 69 but my horse wears a 74-76 in other blankets and sheets. I'm not sure what size to order.

We get many days of 100+ degree weather in the summer. Will the make the horses too warm?
Morley M on Mar 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't think so, we live in south Texas and have never had a problem. We do switch our horses though and let them graze a night so they are not out in the heat every day.
Does this sheet have fly repellant in the fabric?
A shopper on Mar 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This particular one does not. I have two horses and bought two different Rambo Fly Sheets. The one with the fly repellent was a little different but I don't feel the fly repellent made a big difference after a few rains and rolls in the dirt. I like both of them. They are quality made and good materials and my quarter horses need the room the blanket offers in the shoulder and chest. You can always spritz the blanket with fly spray if you feel it's needed.
How do you clean this fly sheet?
A shopper on Jul 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: just through it in your washing machine. I use a blanket wash as I usually have waterproof blankets being washed at the same time but any "Free" soap will do. Had this for over three years love it.
How is the uv fly sheet to be cleaned? Can it be laundered like a blanket or would that ruin the uv protection?
flora f on Aug 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: i have washed mine regularly in the washing machine. I haven't noticed any indication of loss of UV. I will say that this is the longest lasting fly sheet I have ever used. Mine is being used because I have an itchy horse. he has still been able to rub his tail through it a little but it has yet to snag or rip. Horses color and coat have stayed very nice.
I have a large pony,14.1 hands, pretty hefty. She wears a 72 in her Rhino Wug and it's a perfect fit. The 72 in the Rambo fly sheet is huge on her with the tail strap hitting at her hocks, dangerously too loose.
How many sizes smaller should the Rambo fly sheet be from the Rhino Wug? I'm thinking about 2 sizes? I put the middle sized horse's 78 on my mare who wears an 81 and it was a little too large but I think it might work.
Should I get a 68" for the pony or 65"?
Tracy W on Jun 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I had to go down 1 size for both my hefty quarter horse boys. Still a little extra room, but I'd rather that, than snug and uncomfortable. But I love the sheet! Very durable, and stays in place!
Are Rambo fly sheets guaranteed for life?
Kristina M on Aug 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Rambo TURNOUT blankets and sheets are guaranteed to remain waterproof and breathable for 3 years.
Rambo does NOT offer any guarantee on fly sheets.
