My daughter uses this with her ponies. It is fantastic for leveling out the saddle.

I have one of these already and it has always stayed in excellent condition and works quite well without slipping

After reading the reviews on Stateline, and looking for a low cost option for wither relief--I am excited to find out if this pad will work on my 17'1 hand OTTB.
Looking forward to getting this pad.

nice soft padding, really takes out any pressure point when your training a horse and using your saddle. Plus has the lift if needed, I have them both flat and with lift.

I'm looking to add some cushioning between my saddle and my horses withers becuase my saddle sits down too low on her withers. Would this work or is there something different? Thanks!
Jody B on Aug 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This is a riser to help an unfitted saddle fit better. I would suggest you get a half pad that is more for horse comfort from saddles that rub. I'm sure they sell these as well. Doubling up on saddle pads will help but the half pad is best.
does this go on under or over a regular dressage saddle pad?
linda on Jun 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It goes on top of the regular pad (horse's back, regular pad, riser pad, then saddle) . I have used it on top of a thin cotton quilt pad & have also used it on top of a double side fleece pad. In both cases it stayed put very well. The formed gullet & the ridge on the lumbar area of the riser pad keep it from sliding back. Just make sure you ease the front of your regular pad up into the gullet of the riser pad so the regular pad does not bind your horses withers
Is this pad designed to lift the front or the back of the saddle?
Kathy Y on Jul 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It actually fits under the whole saddle with the raised part in the back. The front half serves basically as a little more padding in the withers and to hold it in place
How thick is the pad?
Tessa on Apr 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The pad is about an inch thick . It is thinner in the pommel / wither area. It fits well and did raise my saddle in order to level it out.
will this lift my saddle on a slightly swayback?
A shopper on Apr 3, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes. At least it did for my horse. As he got older (he's now 18) his back dropped down behind his withers and flattened out some. This pad fixed the issue and helped put the saddle and me in the proper position again.
would this fit under a 17.5 inch dressage saddle??
Joanna B on Sep 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It should fit but if it is too long, the front edge can be easily trimmed to fit.
What’s the difference between this AP pad, and the close contact pad?
Melissa R on Jan 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: An AP pad is for schooling or show. . The close contact pad are designed to fit a wide range of more forward cut jumping saddles
