Comfortable
These are very nice boots, they are warm and comfortable. They are a little wider that the Roper Horseshoes, which is nice you have some wiggle room in the toe box.

Best Lacer Ever
These are my favorite boots!!!! I have purchased 3 pairs previously! My 1st pair about 17 years ago (still have them) then I bought 2 pair about 10 years ago & dyed one pair black. This purchase is to replace my current boots & dye one pair black. The price was amazing on these! I love the spur ridge & the sole. Seriously the best lacer boot!

Nice boot
I have hard to fit feet! High arches that won't fit into a regular western boot. So I am thrilled to get these boots with laces. They are nicely made and have a good sole that you can't feel gravel through. I like them!

best boot ever!!!
I love these boots, they are a cross between a cowboy boot and a hiking boot. I love that you can lace up the boot and I can support my ankles. they have a place for my spurs to rest, and they are very comfortable. comes with a insert to make them more 'squishy' inside and has arch support.
I have a pair in my house that is going on 7 years old and I am very hard on them.

Very Comfortable
I am a person that hates shoes. These boots are very comfortable. I wore them for a full day for walking doing hard work and my feet did not bother me as they do with other boots and shoes. I did put the extra soles in then for the extra support and padding. I would highly recommend these boots to everyone, even those of us who hate shoes and love being barefoot!

good thick soles, lightweight
sizing is large, order a half size smaller for best fit. I'd like them better if they were waterproof.

Great boot for a great price
I usually wear Justin's but cannot consistently find their lacers so I switched to these Roper's. They are very large with a huge toe box which works perfectly since I have custom orthotics that need to fit in them. They'd also be good for winter riding when you may have thicker socks on. I bought a second pair for the office and they're comfortable enough to wear all day even taking the dog for a walk.

Well constructed-tough boot-yet comfortable
I had a total hip replacement 8 weeks ago. This is the first pair of boots I purchased after surgery. I needed something to hold up during the long day because I am a special education teacher. (8-10 hours on my feet) After my 1st day of work, my legs and feet felt great. The boots have so much support that I believe my recovery will be quicker because I am not in any pain while walking. I really want to get a 2nd pair because I started riding my horse for the 1st time today and I will be riding with them too. Great boot for the money.

Comfort: 5

I have worn Roper Crossriders for nearly 20 years, this will be my 4th pair. I have many other boots but the Crossriders are by far the most comfortable, durable, and versatile for working with my horses on the ground and in the saddle. I have also worn them for hiking and camping excursions. It is getting harder to find them (ladies).

These were a birthday present for a friend; unfortunately, I will be sending them back because the shoe now contains a steel toe or steel shank or something (according to my friend who has worn this boot for years) and she says they are too painful now on her toes. just sayin...

Looking for a better boot for trail/endurance riding. I need more room for orthodics as I have neuromas and plantar fascitis

I needed a comfortable riding and working boot. I read the reviews and decided to try these. I always wore ARIATS before. I love these boots! They do run somewhat wider than my other boots but are still very comfortable. I like to have room for my toes when riding!

Good reviews...not happy with brands like Ariat. Also, believe they are made in the US.

Roper is a good sturdy work boot.
Denna B on Jun 2, 2016

Do they also run wide?
Lore B on Aug 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have really wide feet. Twice, I purchased the crossriders because they're the only type I can get my short, high arched feet into and feel comfortable. They also seem to last a long time.
Is the bottom smooth?
Jennifer L on Jun 7, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The part that touches the ground is raised with a design. This design gives excellent traction, particularly on ice and packed snow, but it is not so deep that the boots pick up extra mud and dirt in the summer. I hope they still make them when this pair wears out; I'll need replacements again.
Is the kilty flap removable?
Robin on May 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the kitties flap easily is remove able. I recommend it, as it tends to curl up if the boots are worn in typical barn conditions, such as bathing horses or tromping thru wet areas. They are some of the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. They wear extremely well. They clean up well, with a little conditioner and are very waterproof. Great boots!
Are they waterproof?
Diane W on May 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Sorry, these are not waterproof. Better description of boot below.

Would you consider these boots cold weather boots? Can I wear them in the summer? I can't tell if there's a liner.
A shopper on Mar 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: These boots have a regular lite lining between the leather & you, for winter I add polar fleece socks!
Not cold weather boots, I wear them all year round! Very durable, have a spur shelf/rest. I LOVE them, have worn them for 16 years!!! I wear nothing else. Don't let the initial stiffness detour you, they break in well. Note: they are slightly wide but come with inserts (READ the insert instructions)!!!!!
Do sizes run true ?
A shopper on Nov 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes. The size is true for length and surprisingly for me the width. I have a D/E wide foot and I usually would order a size 8 or 8.5 to compensate for a more comfortable fit even though these sizes are too long. However, this Roper fitted perfectly. It fitted so well, I ordered a second pair. I use one for school and one for play. Recently, I had a total hip replacement and these are the shoes I use to walk, ride, and play in. I am 52 years of age and this is the first time ever I have had a shoe fit me so well. If you don't have a wide foot, I would not worry. I think you could wear a thicker sock or use an insole to compensate. I am so happy with the quality and performance of these shoes. Maybe I should order one more pair so that when I am 90 I am still just as happy with my shoes.
I usually wear a 9.5 - should I order a 9 or 8.5 for fit??
Lisa G on Jun 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Usually a 2 size difference, so i would start with the 9.
Thanks
