This will be a repeat order for these boots. My current pair have lasted me over 10 years. And yes, I do wear them daily. I ride in them, bale hay in them, garden in them, refinish furniture in them (but only once, that's work!) and mow grass in them. I have had the sole glued twice in 10 years. The leather has held up, but now the stitching is popping. Most comfortable shoe I have ever worn.

They really are a combination shoe. Comfortable for walking but good to ride in and have a spur ridge

I wear a size 8 and my foot is wide. The boot is not offered in an 8. Would I buy a 71/2 or an 81/2?
Roxie on Jun 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi Roxanne-
I wear a size 5-61/2 and have a wide square toe...I bought a size 5 in these and they fit well-but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get into a 41/2 comfortably-So I would suggest the 81/2.

These have a snug heel-so much so that I use a shoe horn to put them on, and they have a slightly curved in toe box that doesn't leave me any wiggle room-though it is not tight.
That said-they are very light weight, and ride and walk well. I don't think I'd want to actually hike in them-I prefer my Merrills for that-but they are great for the trail riding that I do-which often involves a bit of walking here and there. They are great around the "ranch" as it is...I put them on for doing the farrier work, dealing with the goats and sheep etc. I'm very hard on shoes...being a bit "fluffy" in a small foot and they have held up well.

do these boots have a hard toe or are they soft- meaning if stepped on you will def feel it?!
Sarah H on Jun 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: HI Sarah H,
I like these Roper Ladies Horseshoe Boot because they are so comfortable and easy to put on and go. To answer your question no they are not hard on the top of the boot but on the toe area it is hard, but that isn't usually where you get stepped on. I like having enough room in the boot for my feet to be comfortable and it's a good looking boot. I hope that answers your question well enough. This last time I bought a size 7 instead of the size 61/2 because at the side seam by the little toe it will start to wear out. So far the size 7 is working out better. Have a great day.
Can anyone please provide a photo of the sole? Is it mostly smooth or more like a hiking boot? Thanks.
A shopper on Jun 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This is not like a hiking boot. Hiking boots have more of a 'coastline' bottom.
The riding boot is not smooth. Has more like ridges on the bottom. Will not get your foot stuck in the stirrup.
Has anyone had problems with the boot falling apart?
Roxie on Jun 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Not unless you wear them until they actually start coming apart at the seams by then you need a new pair. I speak from experience I have worn them for more than ten years. The black suade ones were my favorite but they don't make them anymore.
I am not sure what size I wear can I exchange them for a different size if I buy them and they don't fit?
Cambrea B on Sep 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I would start with whatever size shoe you normally wear. These have a lot of room at the toe-which pleases my little duck feet all to heck. I think that at the time I bought mine-they were running pretty true to size.

I can not answer whether you can exchange them or not. I have pretty short feet-and one thing I've found is that I do have to use a shoe horn to put them on-but then-they are comfy and I can wear them all day!

Good luck!
I have a wide foot , too wide for Ariat to fit comfortably. how do these compare?
Shelly E on Apr 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have pretty wide feet also, and have a pair of these Ropers and Ariats both. The Ropers are a bit looser, and definitely soften with time. I've gone through several pair of Roper horseshoe kilties over the years because I prefer the support of a newer boot. I think the kilties are a tad wider than the athletic boot. (You can take the fringe-thing off if you don't like it, it's only laced in.) Good luck!
I WEAR 8 1/2 IN ARIAT BOOTS. SHOULD I WEAR THE SAME IN THIS BOOT?
A shopper on Mar 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you should wear your normal size in these boots. Depending on what you are buying them for; barn work, riding or just looking for a nice boot, you should be good. You don't want your boots to fit loosely if you're using them for riding. Hope that helps.
Can anyone provide a photo of the sole? Thanks.
A shopper on Jun 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Sorry, no image of sole. Mostly smooth.

Can I get this in black?
A shopper on Mar 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I believe they only come in brown. They are a nice lightweight shoe though. and very comfortable
