Is this saddle good quality? I need a basic trail riding and pleasure riding western saddle.
Mikayla on Mar 16, 2015
Best Answer: I think it would hold up for that. The finish on the conchos does not last long, the back cinch is short.

how much does this saddle weigh?
A shopper on Sep 30, 2013
Best Answer: It's not real heavy. I bought a 14 inch in March of this year. It seemed to run a little small, seat wise. I like it a lot but it's a bit narrow for my very wide horses. It looks good though.

Is this saddle leather?
A shopper on Oct 12, 2014
Best Answer: It is Rough Out Leather. A bit of a different finish but still good quality. Fine youth saddle or adult for a smaller horse.

I have a 5'10, 180 lb. slim built male rider. Should I buy a 15" or 16" western saddle? It will be used for cutting. Thanks!
Ronda F on Aug 20, 2015
Best Answer: You "probably" need the 16", but it also depends on your proportions. See if you can borrow either size ahead of time to be more sure.

where is the cantle measurement take from ?
A shopper on Jul 19, 2015
Best Answer: It is taken from the crease in the back of the seat where it starts to slope, up to the edge of the suede where the cheyenne roll begins. The cantle is 2 1/2" for seat sizes 10"-13" and 3" for the larger seat sizes.

Is the Flank strap detachable?
Lily B on Jan 10, 2016
Best Answer: Yes it is but when I ordered this saddle it did not look anything like the saddle pictures. The conchos and the tooling were completely different and it did not fit our stocky quarter horse mare.

Does it come with a girth or does that need to be ordered separately?
A shopper on Jun 21, 2015
Best Answer: It comes with a girth but it is a very small
Girth and looks like it would only fit a small pony. My daughter's coach had to give her a different girth to fit her large horse.

I have a 17 in english saddle, what size of this saddle should I get? I am 5'6 and 120lbs, if that helps.
Rhonda on Jul 18, 2016
Best Answer: There is a 2" difference in the sizes of English saddles versus western saddles so if you ride a 17" English saddle you should ride a 15" western saddle.

I'm 5'2" and I have short legs. Are the stirrups able to be adjusted fairly short? I'd probably get a 15in
Nichils S on Jun 28, 2016
Best Answer: There is a lot of adjustment in these stirrups. You should be able to take them up short enough to comfortably ride in this saddle.

I have a 16.1 Canadian Warmblood mare with relatively high withers. Does this saddle work for horses like mine or is it mostly for a stockier build?
A shopper on Sep 26, 2016
Best Answer: This saddle is built on full quarter horse bars. It's hard to say without actually trying it on your horse to know for sure if it will comfortably fit your horse.

what size saddle should a 5'7" 139 lb woman usually use? Never having purchased or sized a Western saddle before
Beatrice G on Jun 9, 2016
Best Answer: General rules-of-thumb on seat sizes is as follows:

Youth 12"- 13" seat
Small Adult 14" seat
Average Adult 15" seat
Large Adult 16" seat
Extra Large Adult 17" seat

When sitting in a properly fitted Western saddle there should be approximately 4 inches between the front of your body and the fork on your saddle. Of course, everybody is built differently and some riders prefer looser saddle fits, while others may prefer a tighter fit.

What is the Stirrup length on the 10"?
A shopper on Apr 22, 2016
Best Answer: I took an inseam measurement, so the middle of the seat to the top of the stirrup pad. At the shortest they measure 22" and at the longest they measure 27".
