Product Summary:

No insecticides!
Easy and economical to use – holds more than other sticky traps.

Features:

 • Disposable – when full, just throw away
 • Weatherproof – special adhesive won’t melt or wash away
 • Compact size – offers a 350-degree trapping surface that holds 8,000 flies
 • Ideal for use around stables, cattle ranches, poultry operations, kennels, restaurants, home, and garden
Instructions For Use:
Remove trap from box by the black end caps. Do not touch the clear mid-section – it is covered with sticky adhesive. Place trap in direct sunlight, preferably 10 feet away from structures. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

For Best Results:
Set trap up to four feet off the ground, in the Biting Fly Zone. Place it in a highly visible spot where stable flies can easily see the trap. Keep trap clear of grass and other vegetation. Place traps outside of horse paddocks, livestock pens, and kennels, where animals and children won`t disturb them.
Stable flies of ten lurk in trees, weeds, bushes, and fence lines near their hosts. Open areas near these hiding spots make good trap locations. In large open areas, space traps every 50-100 feet.

To Remove Adhesive:
If the trap's adhesive gets on skin or clothing, remove it with waterless hand cleaner, then wash with mild soap and water. If on hair or animal fur, rub area well with salad oil, baby oil, or mineral oil to completely dissolve adhesive. Wash with a mild soap or shampoo and rinse well. Repeat if necessary.

It works

I have been using these for years along W/ parasitic wasps. 50+ horse farm. Cant say we will ever win the war on flies (surrounded by hundreds of acres of county fish and game land so they just keep coming) However within a few days each of these has caught THOUSANDS of flies. Each one is one less bite on our horses

Only thing that works on biting stable flies!
sharon h on Mar 24, 2019
I have not used this product but comments said it is great biting fly control. I want to protect my horses from these annoying flies.
Joanne D on Feb 17, 2019
they really work
Marian F on Sep 19, 2018
The best fly trap I have ever used. It's easy to hang. It's attractive and not smelly. Best of all, flies are attracted to the shiny surface and they fly right over to the surface where they become stuck immediately. This puppy works! I hang these traps inside and under the eaves of my barn all summer long, and my horses thank me for it.
Ann P on Aug 27, 2018
to help keep the fly population down in my horse barn
Sarah J on Aug 9, 2018
yes. We have a large problem with stable flies and the stickies are my favorite catchers for flies. this will be my first time trying this one. A customer gave it 4 stars.
Shirley S on Aug 3, 2018
Catches the biting flies great. Make sure you keep it low and in full sun. We pounded a 3/4" rebar in the ground and it will slide in-between. Leave about 6" from the ground.
Darlene K on Aug 2, 2018
Haven't tried these yet, but hope it works well. Has good reviews online.
Jennie B on Aug 1, 2018
These traps work for biting flys. They also catch yellowjacket wasps so that is a bonus
Debbie S on Jul 17, 2018
The most effective fly trap I have ever used. Easy to use, and it's even attractive! No mess or smell. The Starbar Bite Free Stable Fly Trap is a staple in my barn, every summer.
Ann P on Jul 16, 2018
This works. Best fly trap
Merri F on Jul 12, 2018
I have used the Starbar Bite Free Stable Fly Trap since the summer of 2017, and I have been most impressed. It's easy to use -- take it out of the box and hang it. It doesn't smell, and it looks great. Best of all, it works! I get lots of compliments on my relatively fly-free barn, even in the middle of summer.
Ann P on Jun 26, 2018
They catch flies.
Janet F on Jun 22, 2018
Fly Predators recommended these for the grown flies. I have tried other fly traps with no success. Shortly after I set these traps out, the flies were sticking to them. Four days later and every spot on the trap is almost filled. I am so satisfied with these fly traps, I am reordering more.
Tammy S on Jun 13, 2018
loaded with flies every time I put them out. Love it
Jane S on Jun 11, 2018
Have been using this product for a couple of weeks now and have noticed a decrease in flies around the horses. Plus it is amazing the amount of bug this thing catches. Thank You Starbar Bite Free Stable Fly Trap
Lana M on Jun 7, 2018
Read reviews, so I hope it works.
Carol T on Jun 2, 2018
They trap so many bugs! With our no-climb fencing, horses don't come into contact with traps hanging them OUTSIDE of pastures on the OPPOSITE side of the fence, exactly where the horses hang out. Some beneficial bugs like lady bugs do get stuck. It's rare that a butterfly, gets caught but it does happen. Birds?- once in three years I've seen feathers stuck- sad. Some people claim theses can be rinsed off HA HA. State Line's promos make them a good value & NO POISONS!
H H on May 23, 2018
I have purchased these traps for the past two years and they really fill up fast! I also use feed thru pellets and parasite wasps for fly control. My barn has fans going all summer and I allow barn swallows to nest in the barn, I still have some flies, but less than I did 3 years ago.
MARCIA C on May 18, 2018

A R on Nov 9, 2017
These really work! It is amazing how well it attracts the biting flies. Make sure they are placed in sunny areas and are about 12-18 inches from the ground. Highly recommended.

Lisa A on Jun 28, 2015
Works great on biting flies and sweat bees
Michelle W on Jun 11, 2015
Best way I've found to get rid of biting stable flies.

They do catch other small things, particularly small lizards who jump on to get the bugs. I try to hang out of reach.
Margaret M on May 3, 2015
it works
Susan H on Jul 4, 2014
We have an outside hay feeder for 2 horses. We hang one of these underneath the feeder with a magnet hook so any flies that are on their legs wind up on the trap. It works great, the horses can't get to it, and it traps every type of fly. A little repellant on the horses and the flies go straight for the trap. At peak fly season we might fill a trap every few days. Otherwise they can last a few weeks.

Tom S on Aug 21, 2019
Very effective fly control
Merri F on Jun 27, 2019
Is this good for outside?
A shopper on Apr 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I'm assuming you mean in an uncovered area. I would imagine any dew or rain would eventually just dry up. The main concern would be having animals such as birds, lizards, tree frogs, etc., come into contact with it. The tacky surface will trap things larger than flies so I would consider that in deciding where to hang it.
Can I buy a case of bite free traps?
A shopper on Aug 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: They are packed 6 traps to a box case, so you would order in multiples of 6 in order to get full cases shipped to you.
Can you rinse it and reuse the trap as it is said on Spalding website?
A shopper on Jul 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I expect that common household paint thinner for oil paint will dissolve this dirty glue by soaking in a polyethylene black or white bucket. Commercial glue (such as TackTrap) would then be placed by painting it on the clear plastic inner shape which should survive this paint solvent. A few dead biting flies would not harm the attractive effect of the clear plastic. I will try this as soon as possible. Apparently an anti-bird mesh should be wrapped around the trap before the first deployment- at 3 feet off the ground- in the sun. A messy job though.
