Product Summary:

Starbar FlyRelief Disposable Fly Trap

Please Note:  Product is undergoing a rolling change.  The attractant used in the trap is changing from a liquid to a dry formulation.

Insecticide-free disposable fly traps with built-in attractant. FlyRelief catches thousands of flies; Giant FlyRelief traps twice as many. Easy and convenient to use. Excellent for use around pets, in the yard, kennel and garbage containers. Recommended for perimeter use.

Instructions For Use
:
  1. Pull up trap top by tab until snapped into position.
  2. Tear along perforation below zipper.  Remove twist tie and plug; then reseal pouch leaving disposal zipper bag inside.
  3. Tie hanger through hole in tab at top of trap. Hang the trap outside in a sunlit area of high fly concentration where flies are active and where odors will not be a problem. Be sure to twist hanging tie ends together several times and fold over so trap hangs securely. For maximum effectiveness, trap should be within four feet of the ground. In hot weather (above 85 degrees F), the trap should be placed in a shaded area for optimal results. In cooler weather, place trap in a sunny location. NOTE: Trap is not recommended for indoor use or for use against biting flies.
  4. The Attractant tube is inside trap bag and must not be removed. Hold base of Attractant tube (within bag) tightly with thumb and forefinger, pointing tube downward. Twist tip of spout until it snaps, allowing Attractant to pour out into bag. NOTE: Hold trap upright so Attractant does not spill out of top. You may need to squeeze Attractant tube to force liquid out.
  5. Fill trap to ""fill line"" by pouring clean water through round hole in top of trap. Place plug in hole. NOTE: For best results, fill the trap while it is hanging. A small watering can is recommended to fill trap with water.
  6. Agitate lightly to disperse Attractant.

Maintenance:

  1. Trap contents should be agitated at least twice weekly to thoroughly wet all trapped flies.
  2. Add water as necessary to keep the fluid level 1/2 inch below the surface of trapped flies. Do not allow the trap to dry out.
  3. Without adequate agitation, fly larvae (maggots) may appear as a layer of dry dead flies accumulates in the trap. If this should occur, add one teaspoon of liquid dish soap and enough water to wet all flies thoroughly. Maggots will drown in soapy water.
  4. When trap is full of dead flies, open zipper pouch at bottom of trap. Remove disposal zipper bag. Place disposal zipper bag over fly trap from bottom up. Zip closed. Then, while holding the disposal zipper bag firmly by the top, cut or untwist the hanger tie. Place bag in trash receptacle. Dead flies in trap may give off bad odor so care should be taken to keep trap contents from coming in contact with hands or clothing.

Helpful Hints:

  1. In areas having exceptionally hard water, using distilled or purified water may improve trap performance.
  2. In areas of heavy fly populations, use several traps in different locations.

These work great!
Tried the smaller size and it was very effective. Ordered the larger size and I see flies accumulating already.

The best fly traps
I am surprised by the negative reviews of these traps. I have had great luck with them. They trap so many more flies than any other type of traps I have tried. I hung one up a week ago and the bag is almost full of flies already.

Fly Relief Great BUT Too many emails and you cant get off the list
This product does not work on house flies but kills every other fly.I would love to give this a huge thumbs up that it deserves but the annoying tonage of emails I now receive from this web site has ruined my consideration of ever using this site again.Back off the emails people. All the emails everyday is just wrongUnsubscribing is a bigger joke, you never get off of the email list.

Reliable pest control
We rely on these babies to keep the fly population down without having to spray a lot of toxins that could hurt our baby chicks and other animals. You can see by how quickly they fill up and complete absence of flies how well they really work. The low price.helps us to be able to afford enough to go around.

Didn't catch anything.
I bought these bags because I had had huge success with another brand and thought these were a great deal for there size and price. I hung them in exactly the same spots as my older, choc-ful-o-flies bags and checked them in a few days, and again in a week. There were MAYBE 4 flies in each bag, some had no flies. Went back to my old brand and bags were black with flies in 48 hours. I think the attractant in this bag is just too weak to draw them in, There's a tube of liquid inside the bag that you crack and squeeze out and then add water. You can't smell a thing, and in the other brands with the pack inside that just lets on it's own, you can smell instantly after adding water. In short, avoid these. They're a complete waste of money.

Easy to use and work very well
These traps are easy to use - the only trick is twisting the cap off the attractant agent inside the bag. The traps work very well and are easy to store because they are flat when empty (unlike the dome shaped traps.)

fly relief
I bought two of the very large size this year, and we are now ordering more. They worked just fine, and we filled them up with flies over the course of the month of July. No problem.

Don't buy, waste of money!
I bought the "starbar giant flyrelief", followed the instructions and kept the water level at the correct level. It trapped about 10 flies the whole season. Buy the "Big Bag" brand which I've used before and you'll fill it with flies, it's excellent.

Don't BUY THESE!!!!!!!!!!
for years have used Rescue Fly Bags but this year they aren't able to be shipped to Calif.......don't know why as they are available in the stores here????? so we bought these and used five bags at our ranch. didn't catch but maybe 100 flys in all five total! had an old Rescue and it is catching them by the thousands right next to them.

Giving this another try. The last ones were poorly constructed and tore around the top when I tried to set them up. I have used them for years and they collect a lot of flies. So I hope the defective ones I received were just a fluke. Otherwise I will have to try something else.

The Starbar FlyRelief Disposable Fly Trap does work well catching flies. Place away from stalls/paddocks as it does have an odor. Agitate several times weekly and add water as needed to drown the flies. Works great!

It's really good to hang out around the barn and chicken coop to catch flies.

For areas outside the barn, I find these in the giant size give a pretty good bang for the buck.
