Needed chaps that would fit with my winter ariat riding boots and thick pants. They fit perfectly.

Bought them for my daughter but they are too tall--need to take them to be altered.
Stevie K on Oct 11, 2014
Buying these for our trainer. Velcro is much more adjustable and comfortable. These are to be used w/new riders/kids. They are muchmore flexible than zippered 1/2 chaps

Good for trailriding, good value.

My others wore out. I need the extra "stick" that these provide.

This may sound stupid but do you get 2 half chaps when you order? Price says 43.87 each? Is that for a set?
Half chaps on Mar 16, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I say, no question is stupid.
That is for the set (left and right).
I have been using mine since February 2018 and I like them. I ride about 40 times a year and they seem to be holding up well. They are a little thinner than the last pair I bought.
Happy riding.
How big are the large?

Is there still free shipping?
Laurie B on Aug 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This item could ship for free if it were part of a qualifying free shipping offer. Feel free to call our Customer Care team at 888-809-0751 for assistance. We are available 8AM-6PM Eastern time during weekdays.
When will these ever become available? When I ordered on 5/29 I was told they'd be in stock on 6/10... then 6/21... then 7/1... and now 7/14?
A shopper on Jul 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: As of today's date 7/8/15, in stock we have available the small in both black and brown, and the medium in brown. We have been trying to get the medium in black and both large colors in stock, but as you can see the date keeps getting pushed back. Inventory on our site, is "live," so the the latest date of expectation given to us by the supplier will always show.
Are the half chaps made by Barnstable Riding?
Kathleen S on Feb 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I honestly do not remember, however I have owned Barnstable chaps and these are identical to that brand, if they aren't actually the brand. I've worn them so frequently that there's no evidence of a tag on them anywhere. They are an excellent half chap for the price, for sure. They will stretch some, so be sure to take that into account when choosing your size.
How do you measure for half chaps size?
debby s on Nov 20, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Measure around the widest part of your calf. Then, with no shoes on, sit down with your knees at a 90 degree angle & measure the back of your leg from the floor up to the crook of your knee. Someone else may need to help you with this for accuracy. There is a stretchy panel to help customize fit, but if your measurements are at the top edge of a size, you might want to go larger. A little too loose can usually be helped by extra socks. A little too tall is usually okay because they're soft and will crinkle at the ankle.
How do you size half chaps ?
debby s on Nov 20, 2014
BEST ANSWER: You need to consider the length and circumference of your calf. I'm tall, but have a narrow calf. I have bought large to take care of height, but then am swimming in them. Different manufactures have varying degrees of sizes too. If you buy Velcro closures you can snug them up to a degree... I have bought 2, and then returned 1 also. Sometimes you will be asked about calf length for sizing, and that's some indication to go by.
My calves are 20" around. Would these fit me?
Eric C on Feb 8, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I love these chaps and am on my fourth pair. I tried zip up but quickly went back to the Velcro tabs. I have short legs and these chaps are more accommodating than my zip ups. Not sure about 20" calf, my calf is 13" without breeches and socks and I wear a medium, smalls were too narrow.
