Swamp area with less mosquitos
There're less mosquitoes, however I guess we have way too many as we cannot live without repellent after 6 pm in April. Good news: no black and white mosquitoes yet.

Really works!
I was looking for something safe to put down around a toddler and safe to use near water. This product was perfect, and, it works! Not only worked for mosquitos but also for gnats.

Awesome without killing butterflies or bees
I have reduced the mosquitos in my yard significantly over several years. I throw these into the trees and shrubs so the bits get into the crouches of trees. I also have permission from neighbors and throw them over the fence.

Great if you have lots of bromeliads
While they don't eliminate all mosquitoes, they are extremely helpful when you have plants that hold pockets of water. We have tons of bromeliads, which act like little pitchers. We sprinkle these in the bromeliads and you can notice a significant drop in the nasty little bitey critters. Doesn't harm the birds, squirrels and other critters we like.

We have a mosquito and black gnats problems. Will this product solve the problem?
GD Walls on May 8, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I treat my water buckets and standing puddles on property regularly as needed . I do beleieve it helps as in years prior when I did not treat the puddles we were unable to enjoy any outside activity until dark.
Could this product be potentially dangerous for animals if it is in their troughs and buckets? It says for use in animal watering troughs, but then it says do not contaminate water or food supplies to dispose of product

BEST ANSWER: The Mosquito Dunks are non-toxic to animals and can be placed in animal watering troughs. It is advised to not apply directly to treated, finished drinking water or water receptacles if the water is intended for human consumption.
Can I use these in Maine in my birdbaths?
cindy on Aug 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't allow my dog to drink it so certainly not birds. LABEL: "Harmful if inhaled or absorbed through the skin... Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling.... Do not apply directly to treated, finished drinking water reservoirs or drinking water receptacles."
I wouldn't take the chance. Just hose out your bird bath every couple of days to wash out the mosquito larvae.
Is this product safe for houseplants and indoor use?
ROn B on Jan 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I"m not sure. It is safe for bird baths and from what I understand it only harms mosquito eggs, however it did not work for me in my yard. I ended up having my yard sprayed once a month with chemicals :-( That did work to get rid of the mosquitoes in my yard and for less money that I put out with these more natural products.
A large pond near our house supplies water to our horse, cows and garden, unfortunately it is a major breeding ground for mosquitoes. The animals don't drink from the pond directly but through water pumped from the pond to their troughs and the garden gets the pond water pumped through hoses & sprinklers. We do not drink this water ourselves but would this product or mosquito dunks be safe to use in it or would it contaminate our vegetable garden or harm our horse and/or cows?

BEST ANSWER: We use the dunks in the big water bucket at the back of the paddock (it is close to a canal) and my daughter's horse drinks fine. Just one note -- the dunks float at first, but after a month they start to decompose. It does not hurt the horse (ducks or cats that also drink from the same bucket) but it looks like pieces of dirt.
