Horses need a place to scratch. Couldn't find these anywhere else.

Thought ii would be good for my horses, however they were smaller than picture indicates and are actually too small to be of use for horses!

I can attach them to a post and offer them a place to scratch other than the trees.

This seems to work pretty well. The key is to place it where the horse scratches himself. Sometimes that location isn't always big enough to install the scratcher.

Thought this would be good for horses to scratch, didn't even put it up as they were SO small...would need 4-6 for a horse to even make work!

To see if it will keep our itchy horses from rubbing on the barn walls and fences.

How did you get your horse to scratch on this? Hanging it where my horse normally scratches isn't an option.

BEST ANSWER: Both my horses Love their scratcher. I did put mine where they tend to scratch but believe me, they will find it. In the instructions they say to put it on a large pole. I just put mine on a 4 x 4 post & it has cracked through use. I'm ordering a new one and will support it better. I'm in Minnesota and they use it year around so the plastic is pretty tough even with our weather. Another tip, I used several extra screws with smaller heads so my Paso Fino wouldn't get her tail caught on them. I have a scratcher at both our place in the cities and up North. Wouldn't be without them! Hope this helps you. Ride On!
How do the horses blankets seem to hold up to the Equine Scratcher?
Ashley E on Oct 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I bought the scratcher for my daughter and we were just talking about it yesterday as she has not ever mounted it to anything so I can't help you with this just yet. They are rebuilding their stalls soon and plan to hang it then. Sorry I was not any help right now.
