Product Summary:

Tie Safe Adjustable Cross Tie

Patented hook and loop design 'breaks' apart under a panic load, but the tie itself isn't really broken at all! The short end of the hook and loop stays with the horse and the remaining long section is still connected to the wall or trailer. Just catch your horse and put the tie back together.  Features a panic snap at one end and solid brass trigger snap at the other. A lot more attractive than baler twine everywhere.  Material: Nylon webbing. Each size shown sold as singles.

Features:
  • Panic snap at one end and solid brass trigger snap at the other
  • Patented design breaks apart but doesn't break the tie
  • Easy to use
  • No 'snap back' danger of a stretchy tie
Size:

Standard - adjusts from 48" to 62"
Extra Long - adjusts 8'

These have held up well, I raise horses and I like the fact that they can break away without hurting themselves or the ties

I needed cross ties for a new horse and since they break under pressure I thought they would be good in case he is a little spooky at first

I prefer this cross tie because I think it is the safest. With these cross ties, the Velcro breaks and there is just a short nylon lead left attached to the halter. The Velcro does not break easily - it takes a lot of force - perfect strength. Bungee style ties are dangerous because the end hardware will snap back towards the horse when it breaks free. These are also better than bailing twine or a quick release snap because there is no snap swinging around to cause injury to the horse or people.

Don't like these at all. Velcro too difficult to unfasten

These "break a way" at the right time but never actually break.

Set or just 1 cross tie?
A shopper on Mar 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Only one tie, but discounted when getting more
what is the longest and the shortest length they can be adjusted?
A shopper on Feb 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Standard - adjusts from 48" to 62"
Extra Long - adjusts 8'
If I have a 12' wide aisle, will the regular length work fine, or should I get the extra long?

How do you install these?
A shopper on Jan 3, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi! I jStale line sells a mounting plate: https://www.statelinetack.com/item/cross-tie-mounting-plate-single/SLT310275/

I have a 12' wide make-ready area and I hung them at approx 7' from the ground. Works fine. Always mount the quick-release on the wall, not on the horse!

These cross-ties work ok and are safe for experienced horses. Even with experienced horses I do not dare leave my horses unattended in these cross ties. It does not take a lot of pull for the velcro to separate. Great in case of emergency but a horse can easily pull free
Have you used them in stalls as well?
Dawn B on Jul 14, 2019
Are those the one with Velcro ?
Margaux D on Jul 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have never purchased just these—we have blankets that have adjustable cross ties but they are not Velcro—it’s a slider adjustment and is easy to adjust.
Are the ties sold in a pair?
Sue H on May 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, these are sold as singles.
