My horse pulled back and the Nylon style halter fell apart. So I decided to purchase a stronger one.

Wondering how this halter held up? I have quarterhorses and a paint that love to play halter and my gelding's last halter was chewed off of him.

BEST ANSWER: Our current boarding stable leaves halters on, in case of escapes, and my mare has been turned out all winter wearing this one. She is turned out with a buddy, so I'm sure there's some rough housing going on in the paddock. She blew through the first new leather halter we bought her (a cheaper one from a different company) in about two weeks. While this one's do for a good cleaning, it's held up great! It's been through snow, rain, freezing temps, and mud in the last six months without showing any stretching. The buckles and snaps are in good shape, and haven't had any breakage. My mare has also shown minimal rubbing due to this halter, and she tends to be rather thin skinned as a registered TB.
Does this halter come with a lead or is it just the halter?
Haley S on Jun 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't know if there is a matching lead but one was not included in the price of the halters I purchased.
Hey all,

I'm wondering what size to order my 15h 1, 1200lb Oldenburg/TB mare? She's broad shouldered and has a largish head, but she's short, which is why I'm having trouble figuring out what size. When I bought her, she already had a halter and I'm not sure what size it was (it broke, which is why I'm replacing it). Thank you!
A G on Apr 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If you have a shorter horse that's build more solid, I see your dilemma! Unfortunately the only way to be sure would be to purchase both sizes & plan to send back what doesn't fit. Halters are usually sized by weight range (Average Horse 800-1,100 lbs, Oversized/Warmblood 1,100-1,600 lbs). Please keep in mind you would be responsible for return shipping costs.
Could I use this for showing in showmanship? Is it thick, nice quality leather and has strong metal?
A shopper on May 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If you're showing in Western classes, I'd look for something fancier. For English purposes, I really liked the quality and style of this halter. It was a little bigger than I expected. In retrospect, I'd have ordered a cob size for my thoroughbred mare, not regular horse size. I thought it ran big.
what is the difference between horse and warmblood halter?
ginni h on Dec 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Warmbloods are generally bigger boned and have a larger head than Quarter Horses. Most Quarter horses would weigh between 1000 to 1300 lbs and would require a horse size halter.
Is this halter adjustable besides the 1 buckle near the ear?
stacey m on Apr 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: There is a buckle on each side at the top and you can also adjust around the nose.
