Tough 1 harness ? ? ?
Tough 1 harness is at a good price has good nylon material but the hardware on harness is of poor quality

Good beginner harness but cinch was easily damaged.
It's a very nice harness all in all- and especially for the cost. But The breast collar could be a bit heavier duty. And the first time I tried cinching the saddle, the stitching ripped out of the cinch buckle, and I didn't even pull that hard! the buckle broke on both sides of harness.Trina

Ok for price but not sized right
Harness seems to be well constructed and was great for the price but..... The saddle was rather large for a 15 H horse and has several thick rubber pads against the horse back and the girth is quite narrow. Does not appear to be very comfortable for the horse. The breeching seat is only 38 inches and doesn't go from flank to flank like a normal 52 inch horse size breeching seat would. This short breeching doesn't allow it to fit properly around the back of the horse nor does it fit properly over the rump. New breeching will be needed to use this harness. You get what you pay for.

No instruction, good quality.
The biggest problem with this product is the lack of diagrams and instructions for a proper instructions. The quality of the product and price seem to be a very good value.

good harness for the price
heavy duty when it comes to nylon harnesses and the price. My horse is between a cob size and a horse so i ordered the horse size. i am having to add more holes to make it adjustable to him in places. I love that the blinkers have wire in the cords running to them so you can adjust them away from the eye where you want them and they stay! I have bought nylon in the past and the blinkers flop all over when going in the cart. I think this will be a great training and light two wheel cart harness to start my 4 YO gelding in.

Good value for harness.
I was pleased to see that all parts received were in good working condition. I also like the price after the discount. It is a good looking harness set.

Excellent nylon harness which fit well with minimal adjustment. Good price for quality

Quality is okay for price, but not highly adjustable as claimed.
I mainly needed something to use for training before actually hooking up to carriage. The horse I'm working with is 14.2 or 14.3 hands and uses a 46 inch girth when under saddle. The harness saddle itself is a bit larger than I would want when actually driving and there was no way the girth and over girth would fit without adding a lot of extra holes which I did. The rest of the harness had to be made smaller by only one hole. For what I wanted this harness will be okay but after completing his training our horse will need to have a better harness. Also, the girth is very narrow and I don't think it would be as comfortable as a wider girth. When I purchased the harness it was on sale so I didn't pay the full price. I wouldn't use a nylon harness as my regular driving harness.

Too Small
This harness isn't adjustable for the sizes stated.I really doubt it would fit anything over 15HH, should be sold as a cob harness. The harness itself is great, It is a better quality then the Zilco one I brought because it didn't fit my mare. I would buy this brand again if they redid their sizing. In retrospect it should have occurred to me that the sizing is unlikely.

i have a 16 / 16.1 hand Friesian. would this harness fit him?
Morgan H on Aug 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't it would be a problem of a 16 hand horse of normal conformation. I mean unless the horse is exceptionally stocky or obese, it should fit.
Can it hook up to a one horse open sleigh?
A shopper on Nov 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I use the harness on a 15 hand Tennessee walking horse would assume the harness would fit up to 1300 pound horse used on one horse open sleigh
how can i hook with another horse for a wagon with a pole? we have miniture horses.
Laura P on Aug 21, 2014
BEST ANSWER: you would need two collars and hames, plus two backing straps for a team harness. seriously, you would be better off purchasing a team harness from an auction or from Smucker's harness in Narvon, Pa. they have mini harnesses and their workmanship is superb. they last for decades, I have three over 20 years old!
how thick are the raines?
A shopper on Dec 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The raines are about 3/8 to a 1/4 inch thick and 3/4 inch wide, heavy enough but they could have been a foot longer. And there was no way to connect the breeching to the back strap so I had to make something to connect them.
Is the bit included?
Diane D on Nov 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No bit. And watch because the girth buckles on the one I received are not functional and StateLine did not make this right for me. I had to take it to my local saddlery and have new buckles sewn in, at my own cost.
I have a 15 hand mule. Would this harness work for her?
JUDESTER on Jan 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, there is plenty of adjustment. The only thing I don't like so far is the check rein. It needs to be sewn together in between the eyes on the forehead so that it doesn't go in the horses eyes and blinker area.
Reins are included. Are they the same as the lines?
Phyllis B on Jul 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this harness set came with lines. The snap holding them to the bit was not very sturdy, however.
what are straps on belly band for ?
A shopper on Feb 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The "extra straps" are for use if you do not use the breaching. The straps wrap around the shafts and to the shaft loops to keep the shafts from sliding too far through the tug loops and puts pressure on the crupper. When ised in this fashion the crupper is referred to as a turn back.
