Won't last but good for occasional use
The leather on this surcingle was very inferior and hard. It would not accept oil and cracked easily. It was too short for using over an English saddle while long-lining. But it would work with a pad for lungeing. I would not expect it to last very long and the hard leather made adjusting the girth difficult. It was an excellent price for what you get.

Rehab
I have been using this product to rehab my eventer from a pelvic injury. This product is very adjustable and has rings for just about any setting. The only drawback that I have on this product is that it needs to be padded up for a high-withered horse.

Weak hardware
This would have been a good Surcingle if it hadn't broke the first day I used it. The quality is average but wasn't what I had expected. I wish the quality was better.

Tough
Maybe I'm spoiled with nice leather but this thing is so stiff. It must have been made with road kill from the desert. You can soak it in leather conditioner to no end and it's still so stiff. I finally just put it in a plastic bag and soaked it in leather oil, didn't really do much. The only thing I've ordered from here I didn't like.

I had a cheaper version & loved it, but the cinch on it broke. I also wanted to upgrade to a better quality surcingle. I hope it lasts as long or longer (the other one is probably 25+ years old)

Recommended by my trainer that I have a surcingle that doesn't put pressure on horse's withers and sternum like less expensive models do. Just ordered.

It is sturdy looking and the rings stand up.... At least I hope they do anyway!
