my mare just cut her leg by kicking at a wire fence at another mare; this will help her teach herself not to be such a drama queen

I have a filly that I want to try this on, she has a habit of pawing the ground when tied so let's see if this cures it.

Can I use these in the pasture?
A shopper on May 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: In my personal opinion - it's not advisable, due to the fact they are worn just above the fetlock, and the chain drags on the ground. . . and there is too much danger of a horse stepping on it with one of his other three feet - or another horse stepping on it. They were meant to be used in a stall or horse trailer - to discourage a horse from kicking the wall. There is less danger of getting tripped in a smaller space - and I would also advise that you don't put one of these on a horse and then leave for an extended period of time. . .you sort of need to be in the vicinity to check on them and make sure the horse didn't trip.
Is this sold as a pair or in singles?
lauri c on Oct 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This is a single kick chain. If you need a pair, you need to buy to two.
how long is the chain?
Mabellton on Oct 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, the chain is Approx 4-5”
If you intend on using it above or around the ankle it is great. Past that, the neoprene buckle is short/small. Mine is for a 17.2 Dutch Mare (she’s a big girl). Good luck

BEST ANSWER: These are sold individually.
What is the maximum circumference of this item? I am looking for kicking chains for my Percheron mare.
Susan H on May 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The inside circumference on this kicking chain is 15" at the longest hole. There is room to punch a couple more holes so you could probably gain 2 more inches.
