Just Right
The bag is just what I had on my other bike years ago. Dyeing it black now, then will put on my Harley. Some people commented it is not a really nice bag. I say if you don't want one that has a rough finish go pay the 300.00 for a smooth one and shut up.Will be getting another one of these next year for the horse I will be getting. It's just right for me, Hell, I wear a drop holster with a 45 LC Pistol and live in Billy the Kid Country.

Rough Out Saddlebag
Haven't had a chance to use them yet. They are what they were described as and I like the look and feel of the roughout leather. They should last for quite awhile. I finally have my saddlebags. Thanks

Very good for the money
I received the saddle bags in a very timely manner. They were stiff when I first got them, but I used some neatsfoot oil and they softened up quite a bit. You don't expect $300.00 saddle bags for 30 bucks. These are very good quality for the price

Very good for the money
These saddle bags are made from rough-out split hide that likely runs 6-8 oz. They are a good size and have dual straps to close the flap. They are joined by rivets at the mid point where they go over the animals back and don't have grommets installed for tie-down to the saddle. Still, a good value.

Very good for the price
This saddlebag are pretty robust and roomy. If you are looking for something cheap but useful this saddlebag are a good option. I treated mine with a mixture of beeswax and petroleum jelly. Then heated with a heat gun and now the saddlebag is softer, looks darker, something like honey/brown and it is water resistant.Hope this is useful.

How does this fasten to the saddle?
Tom B on Aug 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It doesnt. No straps or D rings. Remember these are just $30+ saddlebags not hundreds.
You could feed straps from the saddle under the yoke and tie off. Good product for the price.
How does this attach to a saddle?
A shopper on Jul 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Eh, right now, it doesn't. Currently, it just sits across the back of the horse, behind the saddle. I plan to add a carabiner per side after punching corresponding holes. Or, maybe just punch the two holes, and protect them with 1/2" eyelets.
It's a pretty rough/simple set up. On the one hand, nothing 'pretty' about it. The stitching is simple and cotton, and tries to unravel, and it's got no finished edges. It is at least tanned.
On the plus side, if you are a crafty person, you can resew it ~very~ easily with sinew, hammer designs into it, smooth the edges, stain it yourself, and wax it afterwards, and make something you can be pretty proud of. I haven't yet, because, I am The Lazy.
But it's pretty much like one of those kits you get from Tandy. Only without the tools to make it pretty, or the way to attach it to your saddle,...
Is this item available in black for the same price as the natural?
A shopper on Dec 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No...what you get here is unfinished leather. You can dye it any color you want.
