Great replacement snap to have on hand!
Very handy for replacing broken halter snaps. It is also a quick and easy fix to replace non-broken snaps when you want the snap facing the opposite direction (e.g., if you want the open end of the snap toward the horses jaw/jowl in case you want to turn them out in their leather halter and are concerned that they could rub against a wire fence and catch the snap on it and thus be hung up). Sturdy and useful.

Handy clip for repair
For the frustrating time when the snap on the halter breaks, this clip is a great tool for a simple repair. No sewing needed. Take the broken clip off without cutting the sewing on the halter. Unscrew the shaft of the replacement clip and put it into the place on halter where the other clip was. Put the shaft back in and tighten with a screwdriver. I personally add a dab of blue Loctite to ensure the screw stays is place. Voila! Repair completed within a couple of minutes. No traveling to the tack shop. I've used a few of these so far and keep extras around for when other clips break. I really like them.

Best idea ever
You take the broken clasp off, you screw this one in and you have a brand-new halter
