Semi-New to English: Do you need another pad to sit over the top o f this half pad?
A shopper on Aug 18, 2015
Best Answer: This is used directly under the saddle, (be careful you pick the correct size, as half pads come in different sizes to fit the different sized saddles). I recommend you use an all purpose saddle pad and then the half pad on top and then your saddle. Half pads are great because they can help fit a saddle that's possibly too wide to the horse much better so they don't get irritated. They give horse's backs more comfort and allow to fill in any areas that lay uneven on the horses back as well. I would make sure your saddle fits though and don't rely on a half pad to help fit your saddle better to your horse but half pads really can't hurt! Sorry this may be a lot more info than you wanted but I hope it helps! Goodluck.

Will this work well with a 16.5" saddle?
Kirstin D on Dec 17, 2014
Best Answer: I bought one for a 17.5" saddle, and it is terrific. Seems more about the horse's withers and the way the saddle fits him than the size of the seat, but I would THINK this pad would be great for your scenario. Easy to layer with other pads, and quick macine wash & dry, so for under $20 I would say give it a try!

How long is the pad whither to back? I have a 17.5" eventing saddle and an 18" dressage saddle and i want to make sure it fits before it get it.
Ellii on Sep 16, 2016
Best Answer: It's 18.5" from end to end, so I would say that it's too short for your 18" saddle as it would be sitting on the fleece edges. The one I bought a year ago barely fits under my 17.5" dressage saddle, so, unless they've changed the dimensions in the past year (the pad in this photo looks a little different from the one I bought, so you might want to check with someone who's bought it recently), I would say that this pad is too short for the 18".

I have an 18" AP saddle and I was wondering if it would fit? Because I don't want to buy it and it doesn't fit
A shopper on Oct 8, 2015
Best Answer: I wouldn't buy it for a saddle that big. I have a 17.5 and it was too small for mine. My daughter rides in a 16 and it fit nice for her. I bought 2, one for myself and one for her and mine was too small so now she has a lesson half-pad and a show half-pad. Nice for the price but a little small for what you need.

Would this half pad fit an 18" close contact saddle?
Samantha on Jul 26, 2014
Best Answer: might be cutting it close, because we are using it on a 16 inch saddle, but I can tell you that is has made a huge difference in helping the saddle we do have fit appropriately to our horse.

Can I use this half pad with the tuffrider all purpose pad, or since they are both fairly thin (from what i've read in the reviews) do i need like a roma all purpose pad with this? Thanks!

Best Answer: I used the tuffrider half pad and all purpose pad together and it worked out well! My mare and I were both happy, but it may depend on your horse. My mare is a little wider than most (friesian/thoroughbred) and requires a mw-tree. A horse needing a narrow tree may want to go a little thicker?? Hope this helps!

Is this fleece on this pad as yellow as it is in the pictures?
Samantha on Jul 26, 2014
Best Answer: Yes, it is...but nice, thick and washes well.
I like it so much, thinking about getting another for my other horse.

would this fit an 18" if so how good?
A shopper on Oct 7, 2015
Best Answer: I have a Wintec 17 1/2" that I use this with and it fits nicely. I think it would fit an 18 also without too much problem.
