The Victor® Fly Magnet™ attracts and traps flies. The attractant lures them in, they can't escape and they drown.
Victor® fly magnet™ systems are simple to use, safe and effective -- the patented non-poisonous bait is included with each trap, so simply empty it into the trap and add water. The result creates a scent that flies cannot resist. The white color and diamond-shaped lid is also designed to attract more flies. Once trapped, the flies drown in the water-based mixture. For use with the M382 trap. VICTOR FLY TRAP MAGNET 1 GAL Item #: BUA12

Best bait
This is the best fly bait i have tried to date. It does have an awful smell however within 5-7 days your trap will be full of flies. (Depending on your location). They have made a difference in the fly count in my barn and around my paddock.

This really works
Of all the fly bait that I have tried over the years this is the one that will get the job done. Killing thousand of flies in one day. I always have refills on hand.
The product works
The fly attractant works well once you get it out of the packaging. The powder is very fine and tends to "clump", but results in a trap loaded with dead flys.
Really Works!
Ive tried a couple of different fly trap baits and this one works on a wide variety of flies, all sizes. Gross to empty but, by gosh, it WORKS !
WORKS AS ADVERTISED
We have used Victor fly traps & bait for 3 summers now. Really works. Great product.
EXCELLENT Product
Would highly recommend! Works extremely well.

BEST ANSWER: Yes. I've had really good luck (with the 1 gallon traps) with it attracting massive numbers of flies and reducing the overall population significantly. Once the "fly soup" is going the most attractive bait is dead flies (I know - -yuck!). If you can stand the smell you can just empty half of the fly sludge out and add more water. If you get algea of any type you'll have to clean the traps and start over again with the fly bait (this happens most commonly if there aren't enough flies to keep the system going). A really bad infestation can fill the gallon traps 2x a week so full there is no room for any more flies to get into the trap. Keep the trap full of water, and if you see lots of flies but none are going into the trap move the trap (flies are finicky and super sensitive to smells and location -- I've had 2 traps 5 feet apart and they'd mob one, and practically ignore the other. These work best on the ground near moist soil (near a waterer) and in sunlight NEAR trees or other shade. A breeze that wafts the smell downwind to where the flies hang out helps too sometimes. SOMETIMES these work well as hanging traps where the flies circle in the shade, but the mega-volumes of flies have always come from traps on the ground. Starting the trap near the most fly-bothered stall can be a good strategy too .

It does not capture every fly but it works on stable flies, house flys and sand gnats! I found putting them out just before the fly season starts is very important. The magnets need to be strategicaly placed which takes some experimenting and observation about where the flys and gnats like to hang out. You may need to use quiet a few of the magnets which can be a pain because of having to change the bait every month. or so but I think the effort is worth it. I also use Fly preditors or Fly eliminators and start early in the season with them as well. The flys and gnats are not all gone but the populations are seriously reduced if you put some routine and effort into using these products.
Yes, it works well. Do get the large containers. This will not solve your stable problem completely by itself. If you spray your stalls down with Citronelle Oil and Permethrin along with the bait you will be amazed at the results. Also if your barn has any wood in it and you have trouble with boring bee's spray the wood with permethrin as soon as the bee's show up and you will be bee free the rest of the season.
The first time I used this fly bait the entire container filled up with flies, twice ! This last year I purchased more bait and it didn't attract hardly any flies. I wasn't sure if they had changed their product. Not sure if I will be ordering more of this in the future.
it seems to work on both stable and house flies. This bait is far superior than the other baits I've purchased. Mix with warm water and hang them 18 - 24 inches above the ground in a sunny spot. The Odor brings them in.
Victor brand fly bait is the ONLY bait that really works!
I have had great luck with this product.
It works on most fly species.

How long can you use the Victor Fly Magnet Bait Refills? It doesn't tell you on the package.

BEST ANSWER: I leave my containers up till they are full of flies (which happens often when the flies are heavy), or when the water has evaporated. Then I take them down, pour dead flies and all in a hole, cover them, start again. Be sure and hang some containers up wind so flies can get a whiff and are drawn away. I have 1 in a tree over round bale and some scattered on the upwind side of property. This stuff is great!! Stinks, but the flies love it!!!

I am not sure what you are asking. If your question is how long does the bait last until you have to recharge the trap that is variable. Once the flies start collecting in the trap the dead flies seem to attract more flies just fine. I don't recharge until the trap is full of dead flies (ICK) . It usually needs to be dumped and restarted once in the middle of the summer.
