why is there just one snap? Isn't this a loop, shouldn't there be snaps on both ends?
A shopper on Oct 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: One side connects to the bit via traditional loop and buckle and one side has a snap. I love my reins. I can unsnap the one side and allow my horse to have a long reach as if she were attached with a lead rope if we are resting on the trail and easy to remove the bridle as well.
Synthetic? What are they made out of? What do they feel like in the hands? Do they slip through hand or cause rope burn?
A shopper on Mar 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The only time I have these slip out of my fingers is when they are all wet because we rode in the pond. They can get slippery too if your hands sweat a lot. Great for warm weather riding, but not for winter riding as they can be quite stiff in cold weather. I found a neoprene rein, with two snaps at the local tack shop .... Much better ... Not slippery, even in water, very supple, will not mold and remain supple even in freezing temperatures!
