Good, thick, durable bell boots
As expected! Nice quality and tough. I got the turquoise ones and they're gorgeous. Match all my other turquoise stuff! Can't find anything wrong with them. :) super good price!! At my local store, bells are $40!
Bought 2 pair and 2 of the four are shot after 2 rides
I was disappointed with the quality of these. I have had Weaver products that lasted well before. However just after 2 rides the material wore through across the bottom of 2 of them. I have 2 pair of Professional Choice no turn boots that are in better shape after over 10 years of use.
They're Iffy
I bought these in November of last year and used them 3 times a week for about 4 months, they worked well in keeping my horses heels protected and never slipped. However around month 2 of use, the velcro started ripping right at the seams, and the fabric ripped off on the bottom area. It was tolerable for a while, but around mid February the Velcro completely tore off. Now they are no longer usable. I bought them thinking that since Weaver would hold their products to a higher standard but I was wrong. They would be better suited for light riding around the pasture, nothing strenuous. I'll be sticking to my RES boots form now on.
Great Boots.
Great Boots. I like the double Velcro on the front. Price was very good. I will be ordering more.
Love these
I got these on sale and am very happy with the quality. I normally get the Pro Choice boots and these are great. I do think they run a bit larger.
Great Boots!
While the pair I got does seem a tiny bit smaller than the Classic Equine Large (which is what I was replacing), they do fit and they work very well.
The best bell boots!
These are the best bell boots I've ever had. I've had these for a couple months and I consistently use them every day, they're still holding up! I got these because my mare kept over reaching and I was sure it was only a matter of time till she pulled a shoe. The velcro locks them in and the don't move at all, even while galloping. I've been through high wet grass, mud, and even a river and they are wonderful. I seen a pair of professional choice bell boots worn once and the inside torn. Mine don't look brand new given the places I've been with them, but they don' t have any tears. The color hasn't faded at all. If you're gonna buy a pair of bell boots, I highly recommend these.
Impressed Greatly
These bell boots are great! Good plush cushioning subdue shock of contact from over reaching and to keep from turning. Love the double latch velcro because these things don't come off. My show colors are lime green for my sorrel thoroughbred and it's difficult to find the same color lime green that matches my show shirt, saddle pad, and bonnet. So when I get these in the mail and find that they match almost to the tee I am so ecstatic because I needed polo wraps and bell boots that are the same lime green that matches my other tack! Quality is great and very well made color is very bright and I am so impressed. They shipped within five days and there isn't a single mark of defect on them.
Very Impressed
I bought these to help prevent my horse from pulling his shoes, and so far, so good! He has been wearing them 24/7 for almost a month now and I haven't had to go searching for one yet. The double Velcro is really secure, just like on a fly mask. The only reason I gave them a 4 in quality is because the nylon frayed a little bit on the bottom seam inside one of the boots, but it's only about a half inch spot and it hasn't gotten any worse. It could have been just a manufacturing flaw, but still, the "ballistic nylon" is capable of fraying. I'm extremely happy with everything else, though. He is turned out all day in them, he wears them during our lessons and work outs (4+ days a week), and other than that one spot, the boots are in perfect shape still. The neoprene on the inside is really squishy and soft and it doesn't irritate my horse at all. The back of the boots have a good amount of padding, which provides a good bumper for over reaching. Over all, great boots!

WHy si there no size chart and how to measure?
Don't know the exact reason, but these run what I'd call true to size. I use a large on my 16 3 TBred who has average feet...not as large as he might be expected to. These are good boots especially if you have any overreach issues. Long legs...short coupled, etc.
Our horse has large hooves compared with other quarter horses at our ranch; she is 15.6 hands & wears a large. Most all the other horses at the ranch wear medium boots; it all depends on the size of your horses hooves.
I'm not sure, but i followed someone else's advice and went with a size larger, because the run a tad small. My gelding is an average size horse, about 1100lbs, and they fit him perfect.
The only answer I can give you is that I bought Large for my 17hh 1300lb Quarter Horse. It's the same size that he wore in Classic Equine, and they fit exactly the same. Hope that helps.
Not sure where the size chart is, but I ordered large for my 16.1H 1100lb Paint and they fit very well. Hope this is somewhat helpful.
I took a chance because I had a weaning they were great. The small was really small and cute

I'm just a bit confused. I just bought these boots. So does the positioning bulb go into the back of the horses's hoof, and then you velcro the boot in the front? I know I sound stupid, but I've never used bell boots before!

BEST ANSWER: Not stupid at all. These bell boots have a "lump" on the back side that sits in the hollow underneath the fetlock and above the bulbs of the heel. That helps to prevent them from "turning" keeping the longer side at the back which protects the bulbs of the heel. They are fastened with double velcro on the upper part of the front of the hoof. They truly are "overreach" boots so any time the rears overreach the front, the bulbs of the heals are protected and the boot takes the punishment. They work. I've been using them for over 10 years. They do need to be replaced regularly depending on the frequency and type of riding you're doing. I have a 16_3 thoroughbred who wears a 75" blanket...very short coupled, so his legs can get a bit more forward than others and need the protection. Let me know if you need any additional input. DOK

I actually wondered the same thing. I looked on line to make sure, I believe the part that opens goes in the back. I ended up not even using them, as I sold the horse I bought them for. He would click his back hooves a lot, as he had a big over step. Keeping his hooves shorter helped. Hope that helps.
Hi There, The velcro is intended to go at the front which places the "Bulb" nicely between the hoof Bulbs for stability. The boot should be tight so it does not turn on the hoof regardless of the maneuvers you do. These will wear better than any others I've used, rough and tough!!
The Velcro goes on the front of the hoof, It doesn't look like it would, but that is the correct position for protection. If the Velcro were in the back it would offer no protection. There are no stupid questions, only learning opportunities. :) Happy Riding!
Yes, you are exactly right: the positioning bulge nestles in between the heel bulbs at the back, and the hook and loop closures close the boots in front.
YES. The nub goes in the back to attempt to stop them from turning. They velcro in the front with the top velcro facing out on both feet..ie R&L.
the velcro goes in the front....not a stupid question I am confused about tack all the time, thankfully I have an instructor to help me!
I turn the label to the back and have the front part protect the hoof. Hope this information is helpful.
there are no stupid questions! And yes, that is exactly how you would put them on. You got this :)
Yes! The ball goes on the back and helps the bell boot not turn.
You got it right - bulb in the back, velcro in the front.
Yes, Velcro in the front.

I have a pony shes 13.3 hh and is in between size S and M. Do these boots seem to run large/small? I'm not sure which size I should get.
BEST ANSWER: I've used them for quite some time and i would say they run true to size. Professional Choice Overreach boots tend to run a bit small but I've found the Weaver's run close to true...Of course "True" is only valid for your horse/pony. If unsure, I'd simply order both and then return the ones that don't fit...cost to ship back is minimal. Good luck.

The Weaver boots are built Tough so the material is thicker than most allowing them to endure Extended use. In your case with a pony, I would get the Small as they are quite true to size. I believe the Mediums would be too long and eventually split due to dragging.
I got them for my Kentucky mountain horse, as he over stepped his hind legs and would nick himself. He had small legs and the medium fit him fine. I don't know if that helps. He was 15 hands and maybe 900 pounds .
I get large for my horses because they have heels, these have more of a pro choice fit than classic... Get the same size you would get pro choice boots in.
I have a quarter horse who is 15 - 3 hh and wears size 2 shoes. The Large fits him well. I am not sure about pony sizes
They seem to run true..not small and not large. Hard to tell on a pony as they seem to vary feet side...
My horse is pony sized also and about the same size as yours, they fit him perfectly.
The size is pretty right on, my 15 hand horse is a medium, and they fit perfect.

what size should i get for a 16 hh draft cross?
BEST ANSWER: Our medium bell boot measures 10.5" around the top circumference, and the large bell boot measures 11.5" around the top. Both of them could potentially be up to 2" larger with the Velcro adjustment. To figure out your horse's size, use a measuring tape around the middle of the pastern where the boot would sit.

I have a 15.1 standardbred and he wears a large. I hope this helps some.
If they make an XL it might.
