Product Summary:

Weaver® ProTack Oiled Split Reins are crafted from heavy russet harness leather and finished with a four-step process. First, extra-heavy leather is double-stuffed for a “leadey” feel. It is then dipped in oil to add weight, dressed with saddle butter, and then hand-rubbed. The leather is soft, supple and weather-resistant while providing a broken-in feel and a classic look.

  • Water loop with tie laces
  • Made in the U.S.A.

Great Set of Reins
I was looking for a good set of reins - great leather, thick, and durable. I read the other comments and thought I would try them. The first set I ordered were 3/4" and they were just too wide. Don't get me wrong - the leather was great, but they were just too wide. I ordered the 5/8" ones and they are perfect! Nice thick leather - well made. They are not as dark as the photo shows, but I just went over them with the Neatsfoot oil and let them sit for a couple of hours in the sun and they darkened right up. If you want a set of reins that are great for everyday use, these are the ones! Great buy!

love these reins
I ordered these reins because I needed long leather reins for my very tall horse and they are perfect- I ordered the clip on attachments to make it easier for on and off. The leather is durable, good quality and just as described.

Nice Reins
I really like these reins, they are heavy and thick, and are nice and long as well. The quality is very good and even though they came out of the box a bit stiff, they are becoming more supple the more I use them.

much ligher color than pictured
The leather these are made from is nice but the color is MUCH lighter than what is pictured. More like a dun than a russet.

Are these reins tappered on ends?
Marcia H on Mar 31, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes. Very nice reins. The best I have used!
Does anyone know if these reins would match the color of the Weaver Basin tack?
A shopper on Feb 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I am not familiar with the Weaver Basin Tack. When I bought my Weaver oiled split friend, it was to match the basket weave pattern on my saddle, bridle, breast collar, and flank cinch. They are a good color match. And, I like oiled reins. Sorry I couldn't help more.
