Product Summary:

Weaver Stacy Westfall Rope Training Halter

This halter features the "Westfall" noseband that Stacy developed to keep the noseband open for ease in sliding it over your horse's nose. Constructed from a continuous piece of 1/4" polyester yacht rope, this halter features a hand-knotted construction with a colorful, one-of-a-kind, "Westfall" rolled half hitched noseband and double crown strap. The special noseband design looks great and helps increase responsiveness, which replaces the need to use a chain, increasing your horse's safety and response to training. Made in the USA, the rope features a double core for the right feel and durability. Halter color: Black.  Noseband color: Black or Blue. Size: Average Horse 800-1100lbs

Great halter
Great quality. Works well for a training halter. I have also used it to trail ride. I would recommend this halter. I have purchased 3 of these. One for each of my horses.

Great purchase!!
I got this for my mustang who tends to walk all over me. This halter gets his attention when I need it and helps me have better control. The halter was reasonably priced and fit his average head perfectly.

Didn't last
I put this on my new horse and left it on her for a few days because she was new to our barn. The loops on the bottom must have snagged something and pulled right out. I have had many others who have been worn in pastures with no issues, so I was surprised this didn't last.

Like the control
I have now purchased two of these halters. I buy them because they are soft and can be used daily for any horse. For my young horses I use this halter in lieu of having to put on a stud chain for lunging and traveling. If I feel like my horses are becoming dull, I throw this halter on for a few days! It doesn't have that stiffness that some rope halters can have.

Pliable, quality rope with easily adjusted knots
Lovely halter. It came out of the box a bit too small for my warmblood's giant head, but a few adjustments and its perfect.

Attention getter!
This halter is a great traing tool. The nose band is an attention getter and seems to be much better than the knots on the nose of other rope halters.

My Favorite Halter
I absolutely love this halter. I have used it throughout the training of my horse. He is now 4 and I got him when he was two. The halter fits him well and it extremely soft rope. It is thin but super durable. My horse used to pull back with all his force and this halter has yet to break and he has never had a rub from the rope. It fits him along with every other horse I've ridden. So from my horse when he was 14.1 to a 17hh thoroughbred. My horse is now 15.3hh and this halter has worked wonders. I have a total of 5 halters right now and have had 7 total and this is my favorite out of all of them. I've also used many other halters on school horses. This halter is very durable and is well worth the price. The color stayed vibrant and hardly any signs of wear from 2 years.

Good product
We bought this for a 14.0 hand cob. It fits well and works perfectly. Not sure if it would fit an oversized/warmblood type. We were surprised it doesn't come with a lead rope, but fortunately we had one to tie on.

Coming apart already
I just got this halter and the nose band is already unraveling. I like the size, it fits my large horse just fine.

I'm new to rope halters and wanted a quality piece of equipment. I know the work Stacy Westfall does, so in this case, I'm relying on her name to point me in the right direction.

My trainer advised me this is the best one. It stays soft and supple even in extreme temperatures. Others don't.

Does this halter have a lead attached?
Laura S on Jun 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Look at the picture of the halter. At the lowest point in the photo there is a loop, maybe an inch in diameter, and that is where your lead line clips. There is no lead line as an integral part of the halter. By the way, the knots on the line going over the horse's nose provide just the right amount of discomfort if you pull downward, and that puts the horse's focus on YOU, which is what you want. I really like this product.
Will it fit ponies?
A shopper on Jan 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Product Summary says it fits horses 800 - 1100 pounds. My horses are small (Norwegian Fjords) but have relative big head for a small horse. Halter works by downward pressure on nose loop, pushing uncomfortable knots onto upper nose - so if that loop is too loose it might not work. Good product, not expensive, so unless the pony is tiny I'd suggest giving it a try. Good luck! Jerry in Maine
do they make this halter a yearling size?
Deb T on Jun 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm sorry, this is only available in average horse size.
