Just curious... what is the purpose of the leather around the neck? If you remove it, does it affect anything?
M N on Jan 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I believe the leather attachment at the top of the stirrup is to protect the bottom of the fender from the wear and tear of friction while you ride. I've never taken off the leather attachment and Show in circuits all the time! Best pair of solid built Beautifully made stirrups I own! You will LOVE them!
Any plans to make these in a wider size? I'm looking for a pair of aluminum stirrups that I can fit my hunting boots into. Thanks!
S M on Mar 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: These stirrups are a lot bigger than they look. When I receive them I was expecting a smaller pair, thought I would have to return them. They worked out perfect . I love them! If it helps they are roughly 5 1/2 inches in width .
Can you tell me the weight of the Western Aluminum Padded Engraved Stirrups?
Karen J on Feb 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: These are approximately 1.50lbs per stirrup.
Would these aluminum stirrups rust or discolor?
Julie B on Jun 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I don't believe so, but to be safe don't store it anywhere it will be overexposed to moisture. I've had mine for over a year now and they are just as beautiful as when they came in the mail! I've ridden in the rain with them and they are stored in a tack shed without a/c. Hope that helps.
Are these sold as a pair?
A shopper on May 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes they are a pair. Not sure I've seen individually.
Will these fit an 8 yrs old child?
A shopper on Aug 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They might be a bit large at first depending on the size of the child's feet but don't forget to factor growth spurts into the equation :) I am an adult but have kid sized feet (size 3 Ariat pointed toe cowboy boot or size 5 Womens Fat Baby's to give you an idea) and I love mine. Good quality and a decent price.
Do these hang offset, more like an English stirrup iron?
M P on Oct 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I did not find them like an Iron, they hang like a Western Stirrup except seem to have a bit more weight to them on the bottom which stops them from flipping around as lighter western stirrups or irons might. I thought they were a good stirrup for the price...
What color is the leather? my new tex tan saddle is peacan
Cheryl T on Sep 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It is a light color but it doesn't show. In time it will become darker. I love mine they are a great stirrup and a great price.
Do they work for barrel racing?
A shopper on Jan 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Lower level I would think fine! I use mine for trail riding. Nice nonslip boot rest, weighted down so not floppy and durable! But not barrel stirrup shape and if horse falls on your foot, the metal stirrups could cause more injury than leather, IMO. They’re gorgeous, excellent for Western pleasure/equitation show ring!!
