Since the panels on this saddle are wool flocked, won’t they eventually compress and have to be replaced? How can you get the CAIR system in this saddle?
Dash maybe on Apr 29, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The CAIR system availability starts at Wintec model 500. The 250 is only available with flocked panels.
What height would you suggest jumping with this saddle? Right now I am a 12-year-old girl and I am looking for a saddle so I don't have to rely on others to use one at my local barn. I am jumping 2 feet and am continuing to jump higher and wider but also love other disciplines such as cross-country and dressage. I am hoping to get into eventing soon. Would this saddle work for the purposes I want to use it for?
LilyC on Apr 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It is always best to check with a local trainer if you are unsure what will work for your horse and discipline.
Hey, I'm currently looking into this saddle. But I had a few questions on it, before I look further into it.

I've had people tell me that wool flocking can eventually compress and you'll eventually have to replace it. Since I'm sure this saddle does have wool flocking with the panels, I wanted to know is ignored higher tech and is there anyway you an change it from having wool flocked panels? Thank you.
Dash maybe on Apr 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The Wintec 250 is only available with flocked panels. This is the brand's entry-level saddle. You would need to move up to the Wintec 500 to have a choice between flocked or CAIR panels.
How long are the panels as measured on the underside from front to back?

BEST ANSWER: On our 15”seat they are 16”
On our 161/2” seat they are 181/2”
what are the two rings on the off side of the saddle for.?
Mary b on Jan 11, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Other people may have additional answers, but I was told by "old school" trainers that they are to attach a small leather pouch, traditionally for a brandy flask.
Would this saddle fit a very broad backed horse?? Okay, I have had This question for a while.. how do you know what size to get for your horse? Just get a saddle and hope it fits? Idk. Please, someone help me.
A shopper on Dec 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Good afternoon, I have a quarter horse, he's fairly broad, and the saddle fits beautifully. What size saddle have you been using? My local tack shop has a set up so that I could sit in a few different types of saddles...because it needs to fit you just as much as it fits your horse. Do you live near Stateline? I would definitely recommend stopping in to talk to them. Maybe take a picture of your horse with you. I hope this has been a little helpful. Good luck and happy riding! Dana
is there any saddles that anyone would recomend for starting a horse under saddle?
dashie on Nov 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I personally like synthetic saddles when starting first timers or green horses. They are light weight, and seem to fit most horses. I’ll introduce back Girths at a later time once the horse is comfortable with its rider. My personal favorite is an Abetta western synthetic saddle and a wintec English saddle.
How do you size yourself for a saddle?
A shopper on Sep 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Honestly, I sat on different styles of saddles before picking my Wintec. My riding instructor told me what size I should start with so I did that. But the rest, it was a matter of how they felt to me. Sorry I can't be more specific!
I am looking to purchase my first saddle. I have been doing Western since I was 4 and just last year started English. I’m a little tight with money but still want to buy a saddle. Can anyone give me any advice? I am planning on hitting a few shows with this as well. I am doing everything from hunt to jumping.
Li C on Apr 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I really like this saddle for an all-purpose saddle. I use it for schooling, light jumping and trail rides. I've had it for over a year and it's broken in really nicely. The billets are a nice length, and the pommel is nice and high. I also have the Kincade saddle that's in this price range (maybe slightly cheaper, I forget) and I much prefer the Wintec for most of my horses. The Wintec doesn't fit my high-withered horse really well, though, so I've had to make adjustments with saddle pads (but that's to be expected).
What size is the saddles tree? How can I get in the size narrow?
A shopper on May 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The saddle comes with a medium gullet plate. If you want a narrow tree you'll need to purchase the plate package separately or the individual plates separately.
is this size saddle discontinued?
A shopper on Feb 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It is not discontinued, but unfortunately the Manufacturer has not given us an estimated date of availability. Inventory on our site is "live," however, so as soon as we have information, it will post online.
Would this saddle fit an Arabian, he's 2 now and I'm looking for a saddle that would be comfortable to lunge him in. Would this saddle work?
Sarah B on Nov 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: That depends on the horse.Saddle comes with a medium gullet which fits a narrower, higher withered horse.Young arabs can be flat backed with low withers .It is changeable so you could put a wider gullet in to make it fit better.Get help measuring your horse from someone who's experienced.
Does it come with stirrup leathers and irons, and a girth strap?
A shopper on Jul 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Nope, all these things and their lengths or sizes are dependent on the rider and horse so you will have to purchase those separately.
can I send it back if it doesn't fit my horse?
A shopper on Apr 23, 2016
Do you offer a trial period so that I could try it on my horse?
A shopper on Apr 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Stateline does not do a trial period for its saddles. The great thing about Wintec is that you can purchase different gullet sizes to properly fit your horse. Additionally, you can improve saddle fit with a quality half pad that will help with weight distribution. I have this saddle and it has help us perfectly in the last year since I bought it.
Is the Wintec 250 available in draft horse size (I have a 17h Percheron)?
Jasmin S on Jan 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: For sure! I have a 17.2 hh thoroughbred with very wide shoulders and high withers. As long as you order the interchangable gullets and use the extra wide size (the white one) it will fit. I also use a half pad on top of my saddle pad for extra cushion.
Does the saddle have cair or flock?
Carmel K on Oct 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This saddle available in both cair and flocked.

I am looking for a saddle that will fit my 17hh and 17.1hh percheron geldings. Does this saddle fit draft horses? thanks!
Suzanne S on Oct 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Maybe. However, one of my students who owns a draft cross, had to order the "draft" style Wintec, because she couldn't get the widest gullet to fit her horse correctly. It kept "rolling" to one side or another. Another student with a draft cross was able to get the widest gullet to fit fine with the normal "Wintec". So it depends.
I have an older Wintec saddle and have forgotten the size. Can someone tell me how to measure it?
tanya n on Oct 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Measure from the center of one of the jockey studs on either side of the pommel diagonally back to the center at the edge of the cantle.
would this fit a saddlebred?
abby s on Oct 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: -Features EASY-CHANGEâ„¢ Gullet System and includes Medium Gullet Plate
-Medium Gullet Plate: 8.6 inches
-Adjustable FlexiBloc system allows you to adjust the amount of knee support you need, or remove the blocks altogether
Is it good enough for showing?
stephanie o on Oct 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes it is. It is a beautiful saddle. You have to look closely to even notice it is not real leather. The best part is the clean up is soooo incredibly easy. I love this saddle. Had an expensive leather saddle before...Barnsby. I loved it, too, but it was going to be $3000 to replace it. I am very, very happy with this saddle. Sometimes I think leather is highly overrated.
I am a high beginner to intermediate rider and I am looking at purchase my first saddle. I was wondering the difference with the Wintec 250 and the 500?

Wintec 250 All Purpose Saddle Flocked
Wintec 250 All Purpose Saddle Flocked
Wintec 500 All Purpose Saddle CAIR
Wintec 500 All Purpose Saddle CAIR
BEST ANSWER: Excellent question!
The Wintec 500 has upgraded synthetic material.
It also has an ergonomic, recessed, stirrup bar to help alleviate bulk under your leg. The skirt is also cut back for the same purpose as above.
Having personally ridden in the 500, I can say that it is extremely comfortable and easy to fit to your horse.
However, either saddle is a great choice for your level of riding.
These saddles seem to last forever and keep their value should you need to upgrade at a later time in your riding career.
Can i use this saddle for jumping?
A shopper on May 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes if anything this is more of a jump saddle than dressage. I do eventing and I use it for everything!
how long is the flap?
A shopper on May 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Approximately 15.5"
What size would I get for my 15 hand American quarter horse she has low withers and a short broad back?
A shopper on Jan 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: If by size you mean "tree size" then you can actually measure her to decide what tree is the best fit (narrow, medium, wide etc). If you are referring to the size of the saddle (16.5, 17, 17.5 etc) this is actually YOUR size and can also easily be figured out by measuring. Most people are a 17. I am only 5"1 and 110lbs so I use a 16.5. I googled how to measure myself and went from there. :) hope this helps!!
can gullet be changed in this saddle ????
A shopper on Oct 28, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, but it only comes with the medium-sized gullet; you have to buy the kit to change them out. It's also a little tricky (supposedly it gets easier the more you do it), and I needed a 2nd person to help me hold it together to tighten everything back down. It's a great saddle though, and super easy to care for!
how durable is the saddle for being synthetic leather and how would it do in a hot and humid climate?
tina r on Jun 1, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I've owned several over 20 years. They are super durable. I use mine for riding student lesson program and get 10 hours a week riding time and have for years! The stirrup leathers do get a bit stiff in the cold weather, but more flexible during warm weather. Leathers will need to be replaced every 3 or 4 years. Super easy to clean. I love all my Wintecs and the ability to switch out gullet plates. I'm gonna update soon and buy a few more. They are awesome!
what size would i get for a 15.3hh Thoroughbred?
Lizzy P on Feb 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The size is mainly based on YOUR seat. How well it fits the horse depends on his/her build. High withers... low withers... how broad backed. I bought a Silver Fox 16" seat From State Line Tack that works well on my thoroughbred 15.2h.
What size gullet comes with this saddle, and does this one also have a gullet changing option with it? Do I need to purchase a gullet package with it?
Carol on Jan 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: comes with a medium in place (color black), you can easily change the gullet but have to order the gullet package separate
